True internet alternatives

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I am living in a rented 7th floor flat in Bangna and am with true internet and phone. Now they say that as I am so far from the exchange that 3m is the fastest I can get. Checking my router stats supports this.

I was wondering if anyone knows any alternative providers that might mean I can get faster? I think cable is out as it is not hooked up to our building. Would another ADSL provider have a closer exchange / node or do they all use the same? Thanks

They probably share the same lines. It is my understanding that not only the DSLAM distance is a factor, but also the capacity of the cables in the neighborhood.

Just ask other providers or try to find nearest dslam box to your location.

Sorry to sound silly but how would I go about either?

I guess there are not online service maps like in the UK so would have to call the companies and ask? I only know of true here though.

I also assume true won't offer cable internet and TV unless it is already hooked up to the building?

Have some thai person talk for you on the phone or simply ask your neighbours what they use at home.
