Hopefully the protesters are correctly armed and didn't bring knives to a gun fight.

BANGKOK: -- A policeman has been wounded by gunshot as the police approached anti-government protest sites near Phanfa Bridge.

Riot police were attempting to clear anti-government protesters from Ratchadamnoen Avenue where the demonstrators have erected barricades and blocked traffic for weeks.

Gunfire was heard in the area at around noon time, and one policeman was shot in the head. His condition is described as severe.

Some explosions could also be heard near the police line, causing the officers to withdraw from the confrontation and reform a new line. The mood in the area is increasingly tense, our correspondent adds.

all the information seems to be that they are packing the weapons they've had and used all along.

  • Popular Post

1. The police must kill the protesters that fire weapons at them, they are justified in shooting back with live Ammo.

2. Once they arrest these 'protesters' most of whom are PAID to protest, and most of whom are armed with weapons, they must keep them in detention so they don't come back and cause more mayham.

Based on 2010, the authorities aren't justified in using guns regardless of what the protesters are using.

I wish your words come true Gerry, but unfortunately I can foresee a lot of bloodshed in the near future.

And that is without consulting the astrologer in Myanmar.

It doesn't matter too much if the protesters are all cleared(I hope they are not) from the streets of Bangkok they are only one of the many thorns in the governments side.

No force will be used? Said Yingluck....

Killing protestors won't get rid of all the shit you've committed young lady.. You, my dear, are going down. (or across, to Dubai, as an additional outcast who also raped the finances of this country.

Personally, I hope you rot in the hot sun out there, if you manage to get out alive.

Now wasn't it Abhisit who said the protesters did not have weapons? Was he lying or just not up to date on what really going on.

well that's the stupidest thing they can do, they will not win a gun fight with the police, if they shoot their shitty old pistols and make-shift firecrackers at the police then the police are forced to kill them with m16s, obvioulsy alot of these idiots think like you and beleive they can win a 'gun-fight'

Hopefully the protesters are correctly armed and didn't bring knives to a gun fight.

Police being once more shot in the head by protesters...

One would think that the courts would finally judge that Suthep's protests are violent.

Or maybe not yet...

So at last we see the fruits of the Chalerm comments concerning violence. If the police farce force had actually been capable of actually fulfilling and discharging their duties in the first place, or truth been known allowed to do their duty properly in the first place rather than expecting the military to act this current situation would not have arisen.

The credibility of the P.T.P which was at zero has now disappeared into a deep abyss of deceit and distrust with no chance of rescue.

These current ongoing actions will sadly fan the flames of discontent.

I've said before that the fuse is burning slowly, however it now seems as if that fuse is burning even quicker now to the explosive charged and packed barrel of public discontent..

I fear that the blood price for the actions of the Shinwatra clan will be a tragic price to pay both politically and socially and we shall end up with a damaged and flawed society courtesy of the Dubai based megalomaniac and his cronies.

I hope there are few injuries and no fatalities from either side.

Another sad day in Thailand.

The only question (not the only) I have is why not just surround the protest area and cut off all supply lines instead of rushing in to what would be inevitable?

Not a red shirt in sight. Who are the "peaceful protester" forum apologists going to blame now?

This ugly, ugly administration is now showing it and Thakin's true colours. Protesters that were sitting and praying have had canisters of tear-gas thrown at them, and other protesters have been shot at by police, as reporters are now witnessing.

Chalerm was obviously very upset yesterday. He was humiliated. What we are seeing now is the true face of Chalerm in action - pitting Thai people against Thai people. He is a coward, and a bully. And he has perpetrated a great sin today. These images are being broadcast all around the world. They are not subject to the Yingluck administration's spin. They show a savage, savage administration, that has over-reached in their response alarmingly. The army is watching, and one's guess is that they will not be able to tolerate this much longer. This administration is out of control, and is at war with its own people.

Spin is not going to work. The police wanted violence. According to all reports the police started firing first on unarmed people. So what do you expect? I wouldn't be surprised that all those police officers were taken down by their own in order to justify their own violence. That's Shinawatras modus operandi. Lies, spin and more spin. They simply don't care killing their own. The end justifies the means.

about time this garbage was cleared up.

police have snipers in place also. must be close to time for them to be given the order.

can only hope that the violence is well contatined now. seems to be a small area and most of the mob are corralled in it.

obvious even from bluesky and nation that military grade weapons been fired from PDRC.

good idea for it to be live on TV, can see who is the bad guys now
