BANGKOK: -- The Army has quietly handed over four soldiers to the Khon Kaen police for questioning for alleged involvement in the attempted murder of red-shirt core leader Kwanchai Praipana last month.

The police said they are among six suspects wanted in connection with the team of gunmen that shot red-shirt core leader Kwanchai Praipana on January 22.

Two remaining suspects are also suspected by the police to be soldiers but warrant for their arrest have not yet been sought from the court.

The four soldiers were escorted by the army officers attached to the Judge Advocate General’s Department from the Ninth Infantry Division in Kanchaburi to the Training Center of the Fourth Region Provincial Police Command in Khon Kaen late last night in a convoy of 10 vehicles.

The Khon Kaen forensic police have taken the finger prints of the soldiers .

No other information was given by senior police in Khon Kaen.

A deal was struck back in 2010 not to prosecute the Army or its personnel for anything that happened at that time, but if I remember correctly it also included a provision/agreement that the Army not reveal the identities of the "men in black" that were around at that time.

As for the forum. I believe since the Army is governed and controlled by the King then they would have their own set of rules for this. The men who are being questioned may have acted outside of military channels which woulD be a good reason for the Army to hand them over

Should not have handed these people over.

They should have used them to force the police to give the same sort of devotion to other cases of over 50 attacks on the protesters. Just to make sure they were unbiased. Biased police get NO help.

Simple as that.

This act is a gesture of the Army helping Thaksin.

So maybe Thaksin really does own the army. maybe he now owns them.

I don't think the King has any more control of the army than any other constitutional Monarch, the army is a law unto it's self in Thailand and has to learn that they are subject to political control. The sceptre of coup's that they wield over this country is abhorrent to democratic principles.
