Does Popcorn vendors = paid gunmen for the anti-government leaders.

I would assume it equals the police gunmen who have been harrassing the protesters nightly...

Learn to read alittle better please. the gunmen are suthep's that he has brought up from the south.

A pretty lousy thing for him to say. Then again, Chalerm has publicly made veiled threats of daily attacks against the protesters. Also by the third hand (damn him!) of course, he does not know who they are.

If this man got into power would he also intoduce re-education camps for Mr T/little sister supporters?

His words are dangerous, a bit Pol Potish; reminds me of the little fat boy from North Korea.

He does not want to adopt a democratic process, his way or the highway. Sounds like a drunken salior.thumbsup.gif

They would need to be educated before they could be re-educated. The difference is that the north korean leader is elected. Which makes him the the legitimate leader and he can do what ever he wants, at least that's how the PT sees democracy. It's good to see the farmers waking up to what a PT government does for them. They take your rice, keep your money, and give you empty promises. Yingluck doesn't have the courage to meet with her own supporters face to face, or even to show up to court in person. As for Mr T I pity the fool who still trusts him.

North Korea are show elections or veto type elections. Have a read of Justice Michael Kirby's recent report on North Korea; could enlighten your world view.

Mr A Hitler was elected by his country.

Its Sutheps rehtoric that sounds bombastic. Were will he end; what are his real motives. Sutheps speeches are a bit like an onion being peeled; you only get to hear what he wants a little at a time.

I saw an article in the Nation that talked about the farming type that were not educated and could not make rash decisions on the future of Thailand; therefore their votes should not count. Very dangerous article for a democratic country.

The Nation is driven by the elite's of Bangkok.

"They should come because popcorn vendors have made popcorn for them," Suthep said, referring to the gunmen at the clash between thered shirts and PDRC protesters before election day. The clash saw some gunmen covering their rifles with popcorn bags.

"Natthawut Saikuar and Jatuporn Promphan should really come … I don't know these popcorn vendors but I really love them."

I don't know these popcorn vendors but I really love them."

Pretty much says it all right there... Come one! Come all! C'mon Down! The guys I don't know will be happy to shoot you...

Yep! Peaceful protests all right ... and in this piece Suthep never said the police shot first just was very smug about his unknown popcorn vendors who he loves so much ...

warned red-shirt leaders of possible attacks by unknown gunmen.

People he has hired but will not admit to. I guess the pop corn vendors are the ones throwing those grenades that go pop. A new name for grenades, pop corn.

Dumbass Suthep. You had it won, man. This speech was totally unacceptable and has thrown a new dimension over to the blatant grafters

He's pure gold is our Suthep. I'm becoming mildly fond of him strangely, not his politics i might add. After this beauty of a speech his backers maybe viewing him in the role as the ginger haired step child.

Hey, btw, how much tax was paid to benefit the people of Thailand on that sale to Temasek?

Hey, btw, how much tax was due under Thai law?

Do you mean Thai law before or after the crook changed it to suit himself.

Bit like lending tax payers money on a low interest loan to Myammar so they can buy equipment from his family owned businesses.

All above board when you're a democratically elected man of the people. Use their money to enrich your family, change the law to defraud taxpayers. All perk of the job eh?

The tax law wasn't changed by Thaksin. The change in law related to foreign interest in the telecommunications industry. This law was changed after the opposition had been calling for the liberalisation of the industry.

"Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva had criticized Thaksin earlier for not sufficiently opening up the Thai telecom sector to foreigners."

What you say is correct, bluenosecodger, but as a key Western ally in South East Asia, Thailand gets a pass on all these kind of extrajudicial killings and the like. Tak Bai, the war on drugs, 1992, 1976, the massacre and rape of Khmer refugees, Rohingyas towed out to sea, etc.

I don't think USA and EU views any Suthep government as a key ally and given his boys protests outside the US embassy he's really blown that one too:

BANGKOK: -- The Student and People’s Network for the Reform of Thailand will protest at the US Embassy today for what its leaders said was the interference in the Thai internal affairs over its support for the caretaker government to hold the February 2 general elections.

I'm not a fan of the US or the EU and both should keep their noses out of Thai politics.
