keestha
Ask a motorcycle taxi driver if he knows anybody who can repair a fridge. Those guys always know loads of people.
LivinginKata
Depends on the problem ... 1. Compressor motor shot - junk it 2. Thermostat shot - get it replaced. 3. Doors seals leaking - easy to get replacements and replace.
keestha
Can also be that the fan stopped, then it doesn't cool properly anymore.

keestha
Ned....the compressor cools down air, which is then blown into the fridge by a fan. Maybe not all fridges use this principle, but for instance the display fridge I use for cold drinks in the restaurant does.
Guest
Ned....the compressor cools down air, which is then blown into the fridge by a fan. Maybe not all fridges use this principle, but for instance the display fridge I use for cold drinks in the restaurant does. Actually.. the compressor compresses the closed circuit coolant gas to higher pressure, which heats it up. Then this extra heat is released to the room via heatsink. After that the gas goes through a small pinhole and coolant gas pressure drops, which means that the temperature drops as well. This cools down the evaporator coils inside the fridge. A fan inside the fridge is used to speed up the heat conduction process.
littleboylost
Best to contact the manufacturer's service center. All the big name brands have their own repair shops on the island. In my experience they are no more expensive and they guarantee their work.
