Spotlight Go Go Bar Raided

Beetlejuice

This recent Go Go Bar raid should warm the little black hearts of the foreign "Vice and Virtue" police. Theses people kept berating a member of the CM Tourist Police on this site for having a benign web site identifying locations of CM bars that employ Go Go girls.

We are well aware of the hypocrisy of several ThaiVisa posters. Trying to point it out to them is just beating a dead horse. They won't 'hear' it, and the rest of us already know it. Sit back with a bowl of popcorn and enjoy the show. It's better than politics, and makes just as much sense.

I'm still trying to work out how you can reasonably describe Spotlight, Starsux, or Foxies as Go Go s.

All are more of a shuffle or Go Slow club.

I worked in Manilla for a year or two and the places there make CM clubs look like retirement home socials.

Starsux.. Ha Ha.. or is that a typo..

Can't let it go can you......two posts closed already on this subject and now you want to wind people up to get this one same attention.

Please let it go ......it's not related to OP.

Okay, I'm busted. Hopefully, the "Vice and Virtue" police will see the humor and not get offended. You're not one of the Go Go dancers that was taken into custody are you? Your photo sure looks familiar.

They went through a Golden Period when they were quite good and since I hardl\y ever visit them anymore, I'm stuck in the past.

Star Six was great when they had the 11pm 'artistic dance' shows.

150bht including a small beer of your choice, nothing else to pay and a 45 minute show.

I remember

The hair whipping girl, the schoolgirl tying up a customer to a chair and beating him, the shower cubicle, and the candle dance. Almost forgot the two girls eating one banana!

Sadly the shows stopped 3 years back.

Once again I'm confused...

How can people possibly describe a girly bar if they've never been a patron, be it here or in Manila.

For certainly they wouldn't patronize such establishments (plural and repeatedly) and then go on to criticize someone who advocates them.

That would be... what? What's the word I'm looking for here?

I've never been in one myself, here, Manila, or Bangkok. I'm not much of a drinker, and I'm told the girls are usually old and ugly.

I prefer to stay home with my wife in the evenings.

But please do give us your description of these places. I realize it will be fiction, but I don't mind hearing it.

It can only add to the amusement-park atmosphere here.

FolkGuitar I probably hit these places once every fortnight or so, am a bigger fan of the Thai hole in the wall karaoke joints. I have nothing against hookers, bars, go go s, porn and like you are not a big drinker. I have nothing against people who promote these things even in a juvenile manner. I like tourist police and more so Thai police. Some things should not go together(to me) abusing children and teaching, necrophilia and morticians, monks and jet planes or Mercedes, fundamentalist Christians and conditional love for hill tribe peoples, vegetarians and humour, and John and Yoko. Hope this clears your confusion, if not please pm me and maybe we can hook up and sing Kumbaya at Spicy some time. Rather than that a third closed post by having this high jacked.

Loved LA cafe in Manila and all of Padre Burgos in Makati, Angeles was a bit too intense for me.

Getting back to OP I doubt there will be much coverage if no significant arrests, drug seizures etc and even less of a chance if no photographer or re-enactment potential.smile.png

I have heard that there is a lot of animosity beween Spotlight and one of the newer Go-Go bars. My guess is that it has something to do with that.

What, you have more than 1 gogo bar there in Chiang mai ?

Here in Pattaya we have even more gogo's than 7/11's, and that says something.

Sigh, ok i wont consider CM for gogo's. I guess i'll have to make it to pattaya as much as i hate to admit it.

But it sounds like such a cliche! damn i was hoping CM had some potential!

Hell Los Angeles has better fun than in Thailand so far!

Yes

Deliberate and not a typo...have not been in there for a few years but it was dark and pushy and the chunky gals benefited from the lack of lighting smile.png

Worse one of the lot and from what I hear has not picked up at all.

Starsux also makes it easier for my Kiwi friends to find.....

the police finally took action after too many complaints of fat, old, ugly woman posing as Go Go dancers in the SpotLight...starting to tarnish CM's entertainment rep. tongue.png

A mate and I called in Sat night and the 6-8 ladies posing ,as you say as Go Go dancers were far from enticing to say the least..sad.png

  • 1 year later...

There is at least one illegal Burmese girl working there. Easily the best looking dancer in the place.

How do you know she is illegal and even if she is who give a flying rats arse. She is trying to survive.

I don't think it is a 'flying rat's' arse that he is after! giggle.gif

I didn't go in there, but I understand that while I was in CM recently the girls in Spotlight were wearing see through baby doll nighties.

Apparently you could see everything. Tracksuit bottoms, Sweatshirts.....

The Myanmar lass TOLD me she was working illegally, I would guess that she is about to be deported if they caught her. She just happened to be the most beautiful girl in the place.

I'm at the Black Cat after a lunch of snake at a jungle food eatery, sigh for the past
