Globaleyes
Hi, My partner and her family were almost (almost...) certain that I, as an IDP and UK license holder would be covered by her insurance. However, the insurance doc only mentioned her name, not any driver or anything. Was I right to stand firm and be cautious or would I indeed be covered if I were to drive her car? Cheers. taotoo
I believe policies here can either be for named driver(s) only, or for anyone to drive. So if you think it was the former you were right to stand firm.
AAInsuranceBrokers
From the way you have described this policy your partner is the 'Insured' and, if there are no more names on the policy, then it is an Any Driver policy and so you would be covered. However to be sure please feel free to email us a copy and we can translate/check for you. Peter AA Ins Brokers
Globaleyes
Ok, thanks. I don't have access to the document at the moment, but each line of the Schedule has an English translation, which clearly gives her name as the insured, with no reference to anyone else. I asked her to show me in the policy document where this might be explained as to cover any legitimate license holder but she didn't. Thanks for everyone's replies.
