My Sister and her boyfriend are going to be visiting Thailand next month, They fly into Bangkok for 3 days then down south for 10 days is the plan.

They were asking me where I would recommend going, but with so many places to choose from and I have spent most of my time in Bangkok and down in a few islands like koh Samet and koh Chang. I taught TV member would have better knowledge than me.

So any one any suggestions, I think it would be better to stay in nice hotels like 4 or 5 star to get better service and they have better resort's.

What do you Think?

I ask also because two of my friends where here not so long ago and had a big problem in Koh Samui with a hotel there, But there native westerner from Europe and my sister will be the same I think. Its her first time to Asia.

If they're not complete newbie travelers or afraid of their shadows or boring stick in the muds, just send them off to Ko Lanta with the accommodation booked for the first day only, and tell them if they're not ecstatic with what they find there to try another place, if they want to see other islands make their way by regular ferry boats island-hopping up toward Phiphi and the other islands off Krabi.

For B1,000 a day you should be able to hook them up with a trustworthy but currently under-employed Thai friend of your coworkers or family to help translate and save them from being ripped off too bad.

Worst case they end up at an expensive resort in Phuket, but in the meantime they'll have had a bit of an adventure exploring.
