Wow! You people put the "Amazing" in Thailand. The Navy comes out and admits three of the suspects are former Navy men, but you think any linkage with the Navy ludicrous. And all the armed men are from Cambodia? And all the war weapons come from Central Department Store, or what?

When or if a coup takes place, the army needs to keep all the key Pheua Thai leaders under house arrest or have them out of the country. If they don't there is a chance 2 groups will claim to be the legitimate govt. and the situation may become unmanageable as parts of the country refuse to accept the coup and rally around the still-free leaders.

First job of coupmongers is to lockdown the leaders.

The RTN are really trying to get their hands in the till when the Govt is removed.

What's the point? It's already empty.

You really believe that? If you do (which i cannot believe) you think that the country is bankrupt? Or more likely the ridiculous stalemate we are in now? The rice scheme is dead in the water, and quite rightly so in its current set up. There is plenty of money here, just due to the situation cannot be released. (again probably rightly so).

The RTN have been a bit left out of the last couple of shuffles, but they re making sure their beaks are in the water this time.

Yes, its a good idea to concentrate the red shirts as well. Otherwise they might make trouble.

The fact that the navy are investigating lends credence to some connection to the RTN. If nothing else, this incident forces the military to be more discreet.

kidnap and then what? is there a plan? you want her to resign, there should be something better you can come up with than kidnapping.

No matter the hue, you can always guarantee a Thai politician to take the low road. Can you imagine what would happen in most countries if someone threatened publicly to kidnap their Prime minister? But TITcoffee1.gif

according to bangkok post, they were arrested, because they did not pay for a hotel, they were staying, for several nights, and refused to move out. Cops were called by the receptionist

...this would suggest that the whole thing was staged.....

""Let me stress that all Navy servicemen ... are neutral and not involved in politics," the spokesman said in an interview.
The Royal Thai Navy had been previously accused of having a hand in political violence in Bangkok when a group of Navy officers were arrested last month with firearms and ammunition at a checkpoint in Bangkok, along with ID cards for anti-government protest security guards."

And people accepted lame excuse it had something to do with busting drug dealers? How dumb can people get? (I think we will find out soon enough...). Or at least a new benchmark.

The real navy kidnap team is in the officer's clubhouse rehearsing with special playstation I hear...

It has becoming dangerous for any navy seal to work as security guards for Suvarnabhumi Airport.

I would assume it to be illegal and punishable for 'active' Navy Seals to work as security guards at Suvarnabhumi Airport?

The wonderful, wonderful, dizzying world of Khaosod.

" ... allegedly ... "

" ... reportedly ... "

" ... rumours soon surfaced ... "

" ... allegation ... "

" ... suspects ... "

" ... allegation ... " ( now two times )

" ... previously accused ... "

" ... allegation ... " ( now three times )

" ... claimed ... "

Khaosod, let's the put the record straight once and for all, shall we ? Suthep pointedly said as recently as two days ago that there was no campaign to " kidnap " Yingluck. Do yourselves a favour. Quote people directly.

And Suthep always tells the truth and never changes his mind? He is a savy, ruthless political mastermind who knows what he wants (power) and will sacrafice and manipulate anyone towards his goals. He is "connected" in Thailand's elite class and exhibits degrees of corruption equally on par with alleged corruption of Thaskin. He is the Yin to Thaskin' Yang.

Her we go again with this crap of no what about him them, no what about her then. Get a life.

There's also plenty of money which seems to have disappeared, only 700 billion or so, nothing to worry about.

Anyway, I don't think that would be a reason for a rumour kidnap plot by Navy Seals.

guys, try to recognize a joke when you see one. If you don't think its funny, move on. If you think its funny, chuckle and move on.

Lost in the discussion that some of these people are employed as security guards at the airport.

Will they keep their jobs?

Would you feel safe knowing this is what works at the airport?

That doesn't sound like the typical behavior of Navy SEALS, even in Thailand.

Nor would SEALS typically allow themselves to be caught and arrested by a bunch of BIB.

Remember, these are THAI Navy Seals. Not to be confused with the real thing. whistling.gif

You think it's only Thai Spec Ops than can get detained and their" cover" blown?

2 SAS guys captured and detained in Basra begs to differ and several US SF guys detained in Libya not too long ago either.

The RTN didn't confirm these guys were former SEAL's, but IF they were, then I'd give this story a little bit of credibility, only due to the fact that part of the their training for snatch and grabs would be a walk in the park for these guys, however with that being said, they'd have to be above average to get through her PSD guys to be able to grab her.

However kidnapping her doesn't change a thing, if anything, it would only compound matters and as sure as there's shyt in a dog, Thaksin would turn his mad dogs loose, even more than the current situation.

Hmmm... Thaksin has mad dogs. But Suthep is talking about kidnapping the Prime Minister, and you are speculating that the elite military forces of the country are in on the plot, and the only thing you find wrong with that is that Thaksin will release his mad dogs?

Your post does rather hinge on believing what Suthep said!

Perhaps a weak point in the argument?
