Pheu Thai members to file complaint; two Navy Seals nabbed heading to protests

BANGKOK: -- DEPUTY GOVERNMENT Spokesperson Sunisa Lertpakawat will today file a police complaint against People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) guards, alleging them of invasion of privacy in an incident on Tuesday.

Sunisa, a Pheu Thai Party politician, was spotted near the Pathumwan rally site at 7.30pm on Tuesday and was evicted by the guards soon after.

She said yesterday that as she was walking out of a beauty clinic on Siam Square and towards Siam Paragon department store, a group of 10 to 20 men chased her from behind, grabbed her hair, locked her arms and dragged her to the guards' office. She said she later learned that these men were PDRC guards.

At the press conference, she said the men verbally threatened her using sexually abusive language.

She added that the attackers wanted to hide her identity by putting a hood on her head, but they changed their minds when a group of reporters and photographers flocked to the scene.

She also claimed that one of the guards confiscated her iPhone and demanded that she give him the pass code to unlock it.

Sunisa said the guards then took her to the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre nearby, before escorting her to Siam Paragon, where she had parked her car, and leaving her there.

She said that while she was being detained, a man who looked as if he was the boss had a discussion about her with someone over the telephone.

"He seemed to be asking the mysterious man on the other end of the line what could and could not be done," she said, adding that this incident made her feel sad about the protest.

"They always tell the public that their rally is peaceful. But from what they did to me it was not. Their leaders were aware of what happened but did not take any action. I want to ask their leaders, why are you so mean?" she said.

At around noon yesterday, police arrested two Navy Seals (Sea, Air and Land Team members) in a pickup truck at a checkpoint in Thon Buri. Upon searching the vehicle, police found two 9mm pistols, ammunition and M16 rounds as well as two PDRC guard cards.

Deputy Metropolitan Police commissioner Maj-General Thitiraj Nonghanpitak said the two conceded that they had been hired to protect PDRC leaders, but refused to elaborate.

Separately, 1st Infantry Division commander Maj-General Varah Boonyasit said the military would set up 176 checkpoints near rally sites in Bangkok and would also beef up the security at independent agencies.

The brave Thai pack mentality, it takes b/w 10 and 20 men to intimidate, harass and assault one lone woman. Cowards and scum that is all they are..

This makes the story very implausible, look forward to seeing the evidence..

The Mouth of Sauron is hardly a credible witness.

Good thing you guys cant vote.

regardless of your opinion , she has the right to walk the streets of her country with out being kidnaped, illegally detained, questioned, and harassed.

I also have the right to walk down the beach in Pattaya covered in Gold, using 1000 baht Thai notes to pay for trinkets along the way

this is my right as a person who live here long time and supports a Thai family

But I do not

Because I have a brain and know what will happen if I do this

I believe we all must except the responsibility for things we do and the reaction upon us if we are stupid

But there are many who believe they are victims of others and cry when their stupidity opens them up to harm

But you have the right to choose what you do even as a "Visitor" to Thailand! She has the full rights of all Thai citizens!

Cheers

Sunisa has a history of embellishing the truth.Does anyone remember the backgound to her work of fiction:'Thaksin where are you?' She claimed to have gone to England by herself and amazingly whilst on a bus on a forlorn search for his residence, she coincidentally passed what she thought might be his home.

Miraculously she had found her hero!

Like her boss she is also adept at turning on the tears for the cameras, how she weeped when she was reprimanded by the army for taking excess leave!

'

She could have just went to a Manchester city match.

Anyway, I'd say some footage will surface for this. There's a picture with a bruise on her arm but there will need to be more than that to prove it to the naysayers.

It's not like these guys are above these kind of actions though.

Interesting how the Nation tries to bury the more important story about Navy Seals being caught red-handed with weapons and admitting they work for Suthep, in this other unrelated story.

If it's unrelated why are you dragging it up on this thread?

She has certainly demonstrated her right to be incredibly stupid on several occasions.

My wife is a Thai citizen, and she has enough brains not to dress sexy and walk into a bar full of Thai man drinking Issan Whisky

Even it is her right

Proving is you play with fire you will most likely get burned

Kikoman

Kindly document where the Woman in the article "dressed sexy and walked into a bar full of Thai men drinking issan whiskey".

Or are you saying she doesn't have the right to walk in a area open to the public in her own country, without being attacked by a bunch of Bangkok Thugs!!

Cheers

My bad, you are correct.

However, as he read the entire article he should realize (as should you) that this story is hearsay and an account given by a lady with a very dubious past.

I'm not saying that Sunisa is definitely lying but I would not take her word as gospel.

That is probably not true! They made an error to say the least. It was a wrong move on the part of PDRC guards.

I agree it was wrong and it's refreshing to read the action was condemned by the PDRC leadership. That's something not done by the UDD leadership whenever their members do something wrong.

However, on the other hand, warnings have been given by third parties not to have children near protest sites.

Tethered goat springs to mind.

Bait for land animals. One would tie a tasty goat in the middle of a clearing so the mountain lion (or whatever was being hunted would have to cross open territory, whereupon the hunter would shoot the mountain lion.

Should this have been the other way around there is a good chance she would have had a burning tyre around her neck what with the red shirt's propensity for pyromania. Thankfully she got out alive.

You might like to note that she has a somewhat 'interesting' history. Google her name and see for yourself.

Not wanting to get into a he said she said but, The media announced that this incident in fact "happened" PDRC issued an account that stated the PDRC guards did in fact, Stopped her, took her (unwillingly) to another location, detained her then released her! (In my home country that is known as "kidnapping".

So it is a lot more than here say! She was said to have filed charges!

Cheers
