Having browsed the forum looking for similar posts, I thought I would post a question among for information relevant to my situation; I arrived by plane on a 30 day arrival stamp (UK citizen) not knowing how long I wanted to stay and have since made 3 visa runs via the Ranong - Andaman Myanmar service.

My question is can I now, after receiving 4 stamps allowing 30 days each time, leave via a neighboring country and apply for a 60 day tourist visa from an embassy? Or can I continue to keep getting a 30 day stamp using the Ranong - Andaman club method?

Preferably I would rather apply for an actual 60 day tourist visa (say from Laos, for example) but I want to know my position and whether I may encounter any problems using either method.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as it's starting to worry me and I wish to stay until Songkran.

Many thanks.

Some border crossings are now limiting the number of back to back entries you can do,

You could get a 2 entry tourist visa in Vientiane Laos that would give you almost 6 months of stay.

You should be able to get as many as three visas back to back.

Thank you Joe, so you don't see any problems with applying for a tourist visa in Vientiane even with the 4 stamps (30 days on arrival) already in my passport? That's great news!

Kudos to you, I was really starting to worry about my situation!
