Hello, Im flying in to Swampy Tuesday afternoon and would usualy just head straight for a Suk hotel. Should I avoid and stay more out of town, owing to Asoke protest thing? I have my car parked at the airport and dont want to spend hours stuck in traffic driving to Suk, thats all. Any advice appreciated, thanks.

Asoke is all packed up and gone :)

rolleyes.gif Most of those hotels were open all through the protests and barely lost any business.

As of Sunday 2 March the Asoke site has now been closed anyway, and the protest site has been moved to Lumpini now. anyhow.

So don't worry, you can still find your overpriced Sukhumvit hotels anyhow.

I personally call Sukhumvit road the "farang Ghetto" and only go there occasionally ..... but that's just a personal thing for me

Soi Cowboy or the Nana plaza area never closed.

Traffic in the lower Suk ghetto area is the same as it always is.... not much change there.
