Quite the turnout for the PM as thousands came to wish her well. This is a more appropriate photograph

And this is her from earlier in the week Udon Thani. Again, thousands of well wishers. According to the naysayers of TVF, she isn't supposed to be popular anymore and the people have turned against her. Looks like more supporters than Suthep has under his tent in Lumphini. She's obviously got quite a connection with the people, and their support for her is obvious. It's quite amazing to see the emotional bond so many have with her.

By my own observation and curiosity I believe that Thai women are more active and participant than Thai men, at least in their communities and working organizations...For them to see a woman in power in a patriarchal country is motivation and pride...Not will be a surprise Yingluck winning again on a new and free election....if her candidacy is not blocked by the opposition "forces".

Yingluck opts to work in provinces to avoid protesters
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said on Friday she opted to work in provinces rather than in Bangkok because she neither wanted to be a target of anti-government protesters nor to be seen as challenging them.

"I want to ask you what will happen if we - fellow Thais - can no longer look at each other but harbor hate against one another," Yingluck, who has been on duty in northeast provinces since Wednesday, said in her shaking voice and her eyes reddened with emotions.

She said she had already fully retreated but insisted that she had to stay on as caretaker prime minister to do her job and to protect democracy.

LOL Poo is a water inspector now. How pathetic.clap2.gif

She is not a water inspector. In her capacity as Prime Minister of Thailand, she came to meet with the Thai people who are suffering due to the drought situation. Her visit has obviously lifted the spirits of the locals and they came out in the tens of thousands to offer her their support. The Prime Minister is one with the people, and her compassion and concern for those who are of humble means is what sets her apart from Suthep. I am heartened that the Prime Minister has made the journey and met with those who depend upon decent weather conditions to eke out a living. We are fortunate to have her as Prime Minister and not some general.

with the dubious status of the government and the PM, with elections still not finished, all such tours by 'unknow status' PM Yingluck can be seen as election campaign tours especially with the hordes of (red-shirt) voters well-wishers. Nice photo-ops, good for local consumption (by those who would anyway) and good for foreign consumption (those who don't know a thing anyway). "beloved by all", obviously.

In the mean time PM Yingluck inspects, looks at water, instructs and nothing new really. All the advise and instructs already being done, 'save water', 'coordinate', 'MoFA talk with other countries', etc., etc.

All I have seen her do is look, pose, get instructed, then destruct. Jack of all trades, master of absolutely nothing. That is truly her.

At least she just confessed she is up there to avoid confronting progress and responsibility delegated to her; to bad she has been completely lying about the fact that that she was up there due to droughts until just now. Her credibility even among the most idiotic has to be well into negative numbers now.

How very fetching. Her very own fan club.

Gerifornication.

Now maybe you can post some photos of her visits to the South - you know, the OTHER half of Thailand

And it's this kind of thing that keeps the ex-prime minister from meeting with the NACC ? So she looks at water and tells officials to do an efficient job. Big deal.

She is not the ex PM. That would be Abhisit. Suthep is an ex DPM. The always dignified and beloved Yingluck is still the PM of Thailand as per the applicable law. No court has said otherwise. Making a false statement, won't get you your military dictatorship.

She is an inert PM., similar to a box of rocks.

A box of frocks, might be more appropriate in her case. rolleyes.gif

If you remove the guys that just wanna get frisky with an aging girl with loads of cash, the support dwindles to a bare minimum.

Love the stills from the movie.

In the first pic she is just about to get a good smack across the face.

In the second - a snapshot of karoake to the Village Peoples (YS shouts to the crowd -we are all villagers followed by screams of adulation by Pipkin (yes he's become a groupie after leaving Thai Visa) ) signature song - YMCA.

No pic of her stage diving into the moshpit though...pity..... no one caught her.

inspected the Indochina Market located on the bank of the Mekong River, adjacent to the Second Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge.

Why didn't she cross the bridge and just keep going.

Ah I know the shopping is better on the Thai side of the bridge

Stop making false statements too. You know very well that she dissolved parliament and is currently only PM and DM in a caretaker mode.

If she is "one with the people" why has she ran away and not working 24/7 to sort the rice scam mess out and get farmers paid? Do her "vows" mean bugger all?

She couldn't give a rat's arse about the people. As long as they do what they're told and provide funds for the family business.

They do have some good "organizers" up there who can get the masses out for some good photo opps, I'll give you that.

She is head of the caretaker government and has declared a state of emergency in Bangkok and certain other areas, But she chose to nip off up North where its all safe and cozy rather than stay and do her job.

Maybe she could hand out a few food parcels to those suffering from non-payments for their pledged rice. They could put a nice picture of her criminal fugitive brother on like they did in the floods. He's be smiling this time alright, he got 1 Billion Baht back from his sisters government - shame they've no money left for the farmers. Still must get the prioritize right!

and with a sob she added "and only because we wanted this blanket amnesty bill covering big brother's last years in/out of office and my first two years. Why are they so mean?"

You forgot something again as is your want. She was told that the water level in the Mekong is 1 metre hight than last year and there should be enough for this year.

If you think YOU are fortunate that's your view, however, you can leave me out for a start so it's not WE!

Has it been determined by the courts that she is still the legitimate PM? I thought that had not yet been decided. Why is the PM not here in Bangkok trying to sort out this mess she created rather than inspecting water levels in essan? Doesn't really matter, it does not change her 'box-of-rocks' intellect.

Of course the PM is popular where's she popular. There is a lot of Thailand where her demagogue brother is still revered and that's why they love her.

But 'inspecting' markets and water levels when the country is in crisis? At least when the British royals visit somewhere once in a blue moon like this they do something useful like planting a tree. smile.png
