December Follows May In Thailand? Chases, Is More Apropos A Term?

There seems to be considerable discussion on this forum, in many sub forums too, about people's reactions to the Farang December May relationships some think are more visible in Thailand than almost anywhere else. It is debatable whether or not there are any more relationships between young and old here in this land, than in some other parts of the world, but this aspect of the question does not matter much.

What does matter to us is why we should not think dissaprovingly or with undue bias when we do see an old man and a young lady hand in hand having some fun in life. I limit my topic here to the discussion of the relationship between a man of older than 45, and a woman of less than 25, or an age difference of more than 19.5 years.

I am further just interested in your idea regarding an even narrower part of this question:

What if any genetic justification for such relationships can we point to in order to say to ourselves that these marriages or love affairs, or even casual times, are logical and make sense from a biological perspective.

Here is the argument:

I say that it is only logical that a young woman would seek out the genes of any man who exhibited the outer telltale signs of having superior genes, simply because all females in all speciies are seeking the best genes they can find to pass on to their offspring.

For human females, I think it is logical that they want their children to be smart as possible, handsome as possible, wealthy as possible, safe as possible, and healthy as possible.

This means that the human male, no matter what his age, only needs to have superior genes in order to satisfy the needs of the female.

But, on the other hand, the male of our species is looking for a very healthy female, who is smart, and exceedingly attractive due to physical attributes that we all can guess at here without spelling them out, anatomically.

How many young male humans can provide wealth, safety, handsomeness gentic traits, and healthy?

THAT IS RIGHT: NOT MANY, compared to the older males.

Why?

Well because we can tell from a 70 year old, who is still in decent shape, much more than we can tell about the genetic health probabilities of a younger male who has not yet proven he can live to be 40, much less 70, and be robust at 70.

Obviously, no matter the 70 year old's age, one can still easily tell if this male was handsome in his youth, judging by bone structure and the relative symmetry of his physiognomy.

This means that our opinions about the December May romance must be rethought, perhaps, and judged more on the real and tangible advantages, in addition to money, that some females clearly see in the males of more advanced years.

I think this topic is very important to this forum because most here seem to be in the second half of their lives, and up to this point I don't think this topic has been discussed inteliegently from the most important valid perspectives.

I would say we should be kinder to those who enjoy a relationshp they find rewarding, and no need to deride it until we try it.

(And for those here who neverendingly see things with a juvenile eye, I really wish you would not attempt to wreck this topic by taking cheap shots at a relationship you yourselves may one day find appealing. I am not saying I would be interested, and I am not interested. My girlfriend is 3 years younger than I, and this is the way I like it, and feel most happy. For others, if they like it their way, then we should better understand the appeal, and congratulate.)

my first inner response was

live and let live and mind ones own business

then i saw this:

Well because we can tell from a 70 year old, who is still in decent shape, much more than we can tell about the genetic health probabilities of a younger male who has not yet proven he can live to be 40, much less 70, and be robust at 70.

something i never thought about before

so thank you for that

Take a five minute walk in the streets of Pattaya, look at the average 70-year old tourist/foreigner there and you might want to reassess your "superior genes" theory.
