fab4
The title of the news is not accurate. It should read like this: One thousand police to escort red shirt boat caravan this Saturday That's the way it is. Image:Red-shirt supporters riding a coach from Nakhon Ratchasima to Bangkok (Rajamangala Stadium) with an extensive police escort, on 30 Nov. 2013. (Photo by Prasit Tangprasert) A curious title for that image - extensive police escort? One police car?

gabruce
so an extra 1.000 redshirts guarding 300 redshirts confusion reigns in this paradise.. ..just waiting for yeah but.but.but..suphep,s a fascist/... Sorry, Who is a suphep? Methinks more time needed proof reading and less time spent looking for smart alec emoticons. P.S. fas·cism noun \ˈfa-ˌshi-zəm also ˈfa-ˌsi-\ : a way of organizing a society in which a government ruled by a dictator controls the lives of the people and in which people are not allowed to disagree with the government : very harsh control or authority Sounds like the govt run by Thaksin if he wasn't pretending to be a communist (which is sort-of the traditional opposite of a fascist.) Sound's like any communist government you can name as well. I think the definition should just drop the phrase "ruled by a dictator".

Fryslan boppe
"....the pro-government red shirt movement..." A little correction on the agenized anti-UDD/Red Shirt media characterization of this element of the electoral majority. Trying to diminish its' reason-for-being, from one of being advocates of "Electoral and Parliamentary Democracy", to simply being in favor of this Govt. By doing that, they hope to reflectively characterize themselves, as also merely being against this current Govt., instead of being the anti-Democrats they are. The media do this repetitively and by design. So in order not to let that become the accepted norm, one is forced to clarify it repetitively.

Due you mean the majority of seats in parliament which a large minority vote translates into? (Photo by Prasit Tangprasert) As expected: Richard Barrow @RichardBarrow 9 mins The first part of the Red Shirts rally is by boat & they will be escorted by Marine Police from Ayutthaya #Thailand pic.twitter.com/8lRTevFZtM And before someones says "I only see 3 police on that picture"... It's not about how many can be seen on that particular picture, it's about the Thai Police not protecting all the citizens. They only serve the interests of the Clan Thaksinista. With all the deaths and injured from the attacks to the protesters on the last 4 months, how many arrested? Edited March 15, 2014 by MGP
tim armstrong
A number of re-enactments of the Titanic wouldn't go astray for the red-shirt flotilla, or maybe Drake could assist with a few fire ships launched against the red armada. Good ideas Artisi but what about something less violent. I'd suggest a Moses type person to part the waters and leave the flotilla stranded on the river bed. smedly
I;m going to assume since there have been no media reports that this gathering was a complete flop - that does not surprise me and the red leaders should realise that the good people of Thailand do not respect being lied too and used The red leaders need to realise that the game is up, people will no longer tolerate your terrorist cause while you are filling up your offshore accounts at their expense - 4 childrens parents can testify to that You are not going to get your share of 2.2 billion baht - it was cancelled - don't forget to turn the lights out and go get an honest job, I hear the rice farmers are looking for support, perhaps you can pay them their money that you stole and work in the fields for the next 3 months for free I feel a movement coming on - I wonder if a big Thida turd can be launched from an m79 launcher - that would be lethal

rametindallas
saying that Saturday's rally... ...is aimed at clarifying the current political situation for them Since they are too stupid to figure out what the situation is by themselves? Are you calling your followers stupid, Thida? Ugly is as ugly does and you can see how ugly Thida's behavior has been all her life; it is written on her face. Kind people don't grow faces like that. I bet they call her Khun Manao behind her back (Ms Lemon). Woof!

The media do this repetitively and by design. So in order not to let that become the accepted norm, one is forced to clarify it repetitively. Look, everybody but you knows the UDD was created by Thaksin and is funded by him. Thida and Co. are all on his payroll. They are NOT an independent organization. They are equivalent to a certain 'paper hanger's Brown Shirts or hired, professional mob. Thida uses her communist experience to keep the propaganda hot and heavy and the members fired up with hate as that video showed the room applauding when the Red Shirt speaker called he deaths of those children a great victory. (Thida was smart enough to try to minimize the damage but we already saw the crows reaction and those on stage hugging the guy who said those hateful things) and this was a room full of the Leadership. They say they are for Democracy yet they want one-party rule by Thaksin or his puppets. You posts contradict yourself so much that I don't know if you are a dupe or an agent. In any case, please step away from he Dark Side.
