hi im an an expat & needing help about information.. my present company is asking for my income tax papers from my previous company and they refused to give it to me.. what's the possible outsome for me since my previous company refused to give me my tax papers.. thanks in advance to any information on this matter..

They are obliged to give them to you since that is a record of your money that they have paid to the RD on your behalf.

I think you should just tell them that you intend complaining to the Revenue Department. They will almost certainly want to avoid that.

The most important thing you need is your tax ID number.

This should be on the tax return you should have filed or on any of the salary slips you should receive.

What your new company wants to see also is what tax has been deducted year to date so they can factor this in for calculating the correct tax this year.

Having the papers from your previous company is the easiest option for your new company. But if they dont have its a hassle for them.

But if they at least know your tax ID number they can at least estimate the tax until exact amounts known.

Sounds like either your previous company have something against you or they were fiddling the tax.

Your tax ID number would at least allow your new employer to follow up with the Revenue department.

Have a word as to why they wont provide...
