When I first saw this pic I thought it was surely a photoshopped hoax as who in their right mind would allow children to do this but it seems there are adults with an emotional IQ of -10 who actually get jobs as teachers.

He was in the wild animals environment where the rays acted naturally and he paid for it. He was always show boating and it was just a mater of time. BTW I watched and enjoyed his shows.

I watched his shows and enjoyed them also - it was not actually showboating around that killed him though, it was perhaps ironic that such an unusual occurrence led to his death whereby he wasn't being foolhardy on the day. Who knows what fate holds for us and when it is going to happen? I'd rather not think about it to be honest!!

Looking at the photo, it would appear that these crocs are Fresh water species and people or animals are not on their menu. They are fish eaters (Unlike the Salt water species who will eat anything). I have been in the water with "freshies" and they took no notice of me.

I left Thailand with my kid 1 month ago. After 9 years it was too much for me. The stupidities with children school transport, field trips ("we are back at 04.00 pm". At 07.00 pm still no sign of the double decker. No teacher or driver picking up their cell phone, was a Crocodile farm trip as well..... ), education system (teacher with a spanking rod during a dance performance at school).

Children disappearing which not even makes the news anymore. TV in the morning with only misery in the Bangkok protest streets. Feel much better now.

It took you 9 years to figure this out...glad your child managed to survive the Thai educational experience...

It is common for a animals to be routinely drugged so that visitors can interact with them and I guess the crocodiles in this picture are no different.

But this is certainly a huge contrast to the health and safety restrictions that stifle children's play activities in the UK. There children would not be allowed even to sit on a stuffed crocodile for fear they would slip off and hurt themselves

Sorry Trujillo, but the Chiang Mai Tiger Kingdom has been the site of maulings in the past. The one I include here http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10553811 is from 2009 but I believe there was a more recent one only a few months back. There have also been incidents at the tiger and croc park in Pattaya. Even a trainer/performer at the croc park in Chiang Mai was seriously injured recently during a show.

The bottom line is that these are WILD animals. Trained, sedated, whatever....they are still capable of reverting to their basic instincts in a flash and can severely injure if not kill unsuspecting victims.

Something is quite wrong here, and I think it is typical Thai BS reporting. These kids are obviously not 3 years old. Yes there are 3 of them but anybody that has had children know by looking at them that they are not 3 years old. And if this simple fact is wrong, one can only imagine what else is wrong. Maybe the crocs are made from cement.

The trainer is a highly prepared, likely highly experienced professional and 'adult" (note key word) that had the intellectual capability to weigh the risks and decide to do that work.

There is slightly more than a remote possibility that logic behind your "brilliant" analogy /comparison just might place "you" in the "less bright farang" category although your tv handle seems to be spot on.

Just stating that you have to be 15 years old to go in the cages, as the cats do "stalk" and follow little kids outside their cages. The trainers there said they would not trust the cats with any small children.

As for the pic, it's not they sitting on the croc, but the fact that there are quite a few crocs right near them, it's bad enough to risk it with one animal, but there are a lot of variables in that shot.

I do like the non nanny state attitude of Thailand, but there should be limits, especially when it involves other people's children.

You claiming there is, statistically, 0% risk, does not mean there is no risk. It only means you have very little understanding of statistics, percentages, risks, or common sense.

I have had zero accidents driving my (bank's) car. Statistically, my accident rate is 0%. That does not mean there is zero risk for me driving the car, or that "the risk really is 0%".
