I think it would be fun and useful to have a rat terrier, and the dog would never lack for entertainment in Chiang Mai. I wonder if there are any in Thailand.

it is definately as bizarre as the live crocodile catching for 1000b at the last big Bkk flood...as far as the news updates went, i believe the crocs won. ( non monetary way).

It's rat catching day! Those 5 bahts add up. 4 tails will pay for a Songthaew trip across town to Duke's, or a bottle of flat Sprite, with 4 baht spare. Can farangs join in, or do we need a work permit? Technically, my work permit may cover rat catching so I'm getting involved in this noble project. If I'm not covered, let's hope no one rats on me! That's a joke.

The tails are needed for collecting your reward from the council, so maybe they could count the bodies to determine the winner, and of course what they do with them is nobodies business.

I now have 3 tails, am excited to get my 15B today!!! since i am a Buddha guy, I caught them in a cage type trap and severed their tails before release.... they didn't seem to miss them and very little blood.

Joke about the 5 baht, but near my house people buy cigarettes one at a time. Not everyone is as well-heeled as retired foreigners.

I decided last week that even though Tesco have discounted all its rat catching products I would still need to catch 7 rats to make a profit on the box of pink warfarin pellets.
