aTomsLife
I just saw the below article on Yahoo! Apparently a flight attendant built his own home on a Mango farm in Isaan. Looks nice -- small, but very practical living for one or two people. Says he completed it for $9,000 U.S. Anyone know the house? http://homes.yahoo.com/photos/just-six-weeks-and-9k-built-this-mango-colored-dome-home-1395249605-slideshow/

bbradsby
MMmmm... a few things pop up for me: 1. TeleTubby mansion. A bit goofy IMHO, but whatever blows yr kilt up. 2. He built a load bearing masonry dome structure, in Thailand Full Stop. 3. Then he painted it a sun-absorbing dark color... Should be a proper Roaster most of the year. 4. They'll move out, and the locals will convert it to a karaoke or brick firing kiln within a few months. 5. It's all good for the local economy.

Looks about 50 sqm. 2) You'll have to explain, why is this problematic? 3) Agree, good point. 4) I'm curious what the guy's living arrangement is / how secure is the property? Especially given that he's a flight attendant. 5) Sure, but the article makes it sound like he built it himself. Is that even legal?
IBoldnewguy
Maybe the paint was on sale... it's a novel idea... but as far as I can see not practical... Edited March 21, 2014 by IBoldnewguy
