PHUKET: -- A Phuket exercise and beach-cleanup group saw an abrupt end to their activities on March 15 when lounge chair touts battled them for space on Nai Harn Beach.

Royal Thai Police to find ways to reduce crime rates

BANGKOK, 27 March 2014 (NNT) - The Royal Thai Police are to hold a meeting with related business organizations on April 2nd to find ways to reduce overall crime rates.


Police Major General Anucha Romyanan, the Deputy Speaker for the Royal Thai Police, said crime rates in general had somewhat gone down during the week of March 19 to 25; however, at least 73 percent of the cases involved the use of firearms.

Therefore, the Royal Thai Police Chief is implementing measures to help eradicate and crackdown on the use of narcotics and firearms by arresting perpetrators and putting them on trial. Moreover, he will hold a meeting with related business organizations on April 2nd to devise a policy aimed at increasing the efficiency of police in performing their duties.

Noppadon rejects Shinawatra family taking a break from politics; Suthep rejects proposal

Bangchak launches new diesel fuel to stimulate sales

BANGKOK, 27 March 2014 (NNT) - Director of Bangchak Petroleum PLC, Mr, Wichien Usanachote has announced that Bangchak is launching a “New Bangchak High Diesel” fuel on March 28, 2014.

A new technology additive is blended with the diesel to improve engine performance. However, the selling price is still the same, in order to help consumers. The sales growth is expected to be 3%-5%.

NACC refuses to extend the period for Yingluck to defend herself

BANGKOK, March 27, 2014 (AFP) - Thailand's anti-corruption authorities rejected a request Thursday by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to extend a deadline to defend herself against negligence charges that could see her banned from politics.
