86% of Pattaya CCTV security cameras out of order

Thirty of Pattaya’s 35 closed-circuit television cameras are broken, leaving the city’s police force dependent on Family Marts, gold shops and condo buildings to capture images of crime scenes and traffic accidents.

Pattaya Police Superintendent Col. Supachai Puikaewkam revealed the sorry state of the city’s much-ballyhooed security system to Bangkok Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Maj. Gen. Adul Narongsak during his March 18 inspection of the city.

30 of Pattaya’s 35 closed-circuit television cameras are broken, leaving just five in working order.

Supachai said real-time traffic-monitoring cameras are installed on Third, Pratamnak, Chaiyapruek, Thepprasit, South, and North roads; on Soi Siam Country Club, at the Dolphin Roundabout and in front of the Soi 9 police station. However, only five remain in working order.

Hey, 5 still work.

I wonder if the concept of repair and maintenance entered anyone's mind. You know, fix the ones that are broken so they can be useful.

And how many of the police boxes were working?

Not surprised.

They can't even get the trash picked up in this town

86% "out-of-order".

That's great news because 14% are working.

Anyone surprised by this??? Maintenance!!!! What's that???!!!

You don't say?

The cameras are NOT broken. They do not exist. Same story came out in Bangkok last year I think.

Get paid on a contract for 35 cameras, put in 30 dummy cameras and five real ones so at least

the dispatch office has something to look at. Then pocket the money, and shop for a new mia noi...

If you get busted, just do like the guy did down in a city in southern Thailand. Quickly torch all

the phony cameras, and claim it was down by the loser in the original contract...

I love this place !!!!!!!

Don't work / Don't exist.
