Police searched security guards of the group and found a shotgun in the trunk of a car.

First time I can recall in a long time of the police ever laying their hands on any kind of Red Shirt suspects in any of the attacks/bombings... Wonder what's up with that???

When I saw the headline about suspects being arrested in the NACC bombings, my first thought was to ask: Did the police let them keep their begging cups and prosthetic limbs or not? whistling.gif

But seriously, based on the account in the news report, it doesn't sound like they have a lot of proof that this group of guys were actually responsible for the grenade attacks. Just being at the scene, acting suspiciously and having weapons found at the same scene isn't quite a conviction.

That's interesting... The Thai PBS story, toward the end, also has the additional detail of a pair of soldiers being fired on while patrolling around that Redshirt encampment area.

First dismantling the Army post there, now shooting at the soldiers on patrol. It would seem, some extremist parties have lost all inhibition and respect for law and order.

Earlier before the M79 attack on the NACC office, soldiers on two motorcycle patrol were also fired upon by gunman while they patrolling near the NACC headoffice at 10.30 p.m.Thursday night.

One soldier was slightly injured when one of the motorcycle slid and fell to the ground when it was hit by bullets.

Interesting. I thought it was weird that police alone would arrest red shirts. Now I know it was a joint exercise it makes sense now. Well done on the army for removing 10 more terrorists from the streets. Lets hope they are not out of jail soon.

Didn't know that "gunmen" fired on 2 soldiers as well. Dismantling bunkers, firing on soldiers. They are itching for a reaction from the army.

I suppose what is the point of amassing a 200 000 strong armed street gang if you can't use them.

I heard 2 grenades and then a little gunfire last night, I guess around 11pm .. so something was happening down there that I haven't seen reported

BANGKOK: -- A combined force of police and soldiers combed a suspected area close to the head-office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) before dawn Friday and arrested three suspects with a cache of firearms and ammunition.

One of the suspects was said to be a security guard who was giving protection to a group of red-shirt demonstrators holding out at the front gate of the NACC office on Sanambin Nam road in Nonthaburi.

The cache that the combined force seized was found in bushes on Soi Nonthaburi 46. It included M79 grenade launcher and grenades used for the launcher, an AK 47 assault rifle, five REG 5 hand grenades, a shotgun, a .45 pistol.

The three persons were spotted suspiciously near the place and tried to escape when police combed the area to search.

The arrest came after the police, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team and soldiers suspected two M79 grenades that hit the NACC Building 1 Thursday might be fired from a remote place from Soi Nonthaburi 46 – Soi Nonthaburi 48 as they were in the firing range of the grenade launcher.

They also believed the attacker or attackers were stilling hiding in bushes in the remote areas in between the two Sois.

A combined force of police and soldiers then combed the area and found the arms cache and three suspects were seen there and arrested.

Meanwhile, Nonthaburi police also detained 10 redshirt supporters in front of the NACC office when body search produced handguns in their possession.

Good. There's no room for violence in this struggle. Punish them to the max.

And no room for coup-mongers. Punish them and their enablers to the max.

Without them, everything would be running smoothly, including parliament and any planning for upcoming elections by all sides.

Explosions and all acts of violence such as this, regardless of the perps, all goes back to those seeking governing power outside elections, aided and abetted by biased groups and courts.

In this case what came first, the chicken or the egg, the answer is clear.

the police are finally starting to do their jobs, this alone is great to see and surprise surprise they found weapons on the red guards, why were they not searched before this. This goes to show how simple and stupid the reds are, they block entry to the place then start firing grenades at it and keep all the weaponry at close quarters so they can continue to use it each night. Lets see if these people will be released or charged, the next big step and will the police now start to hassle the reds to clear the area as they have shown to be armed and dangerous or is this only reserved for anti govt people.

The CAPO head yesterday made declarations to celebrate that the Red Shirts dismounted the Army-Checkpoint in front of the NACC, while he remained silent about the attack to the monk.

As far as I know, he is still silent about the Red Shirt weapons...

I don't pretend to be a weapons expert, but aren't M-79 grenades 40mm shells that are put into the launcher that looks like a fat single barrel shotgun ? Those in the pic look like something else.

You're indeed correct, what you see in the main picture are just regular fragmentation grenades possibly the Russian RGD-5 type.

Actually it goes back to those in power seeking to bleed the country white whilst working for the agenda of one man and the people having said enough is enough.,
