Anti-government protesters retake NACC

1044002_792396884122513_1209867500_n-wpc

BANGKOK: -- Hundreds of anti-government protesters forcibly remove makeshift stage and tents set up in front of the head office of the National Anti Corruption Commission Saturday and drove out redshirt supporters of the government occupying the area to pressure the commission to give up impeaching the caretaker prime minister.

The protesters were led by Luang Poo Buddha-issara.

Confrontation broke out with both sides throwing plastic bottles at each other and one gunshot was heard.
Hundreds of police were called in and formed a line in between the two rival groups.

The redshirts later decided to pull out after being heavily outnumbered but vowed to return to recapture the place with more men.
Their makeshift tents, stage and chairs were then removed by anti government protesters.

The abbot said he has to lead farmers to the Government Lottery Office to ask for the unpaid sum of 200,000 baht for the rice which farmers sold to the office last week.

He had to use the road in front of the NACC which was blocked by the redshirts.

"The redshirts later decided to pull out after being heavily outnumbered but vowed to return to recapture the place with more men."

Red shirts, get ready to splash more money out to recruit more supporters.

And don't forget your cowardly acts, shoot and throw grenades as you usually do.

Your days are numbered.......it won't be long now.

Just a return courtesy to reds shirt, in northern province all PRDC stages have been destroy and protester are threatened by reds.....

So the UDD outpost by the NACC has been retaken. The red shirts cleared an army barrack earlier in the week, so at least those outside the NACC now support the judicial checks and balances. The clarity of this is that the UDD doesn't want checks and balances. Period. They don't want a rice investigation. Period. Regardless as to who has a greater physical presence or not - the PDRC or the UDD - isn't the point. The point is that one wants to strengthen the judicial checks and balances while one wants them to go away.

Just demonstrates the general knowledge that these so called Independent agencies are politically aligned...Why else would there be political stuff like this going on there.... If they were legitimately corruption oriented as their reason-for-being implies, it wouldn't generate political confrontation.

The Red Shirts here are miniscule and representative of millions behind them nation-wide, who know tools of Ammart coup-mongers when they see them.

In any event, from what I can see, the UDD/Red Shirts are ready...Prepared for which ever agency or judicial entity the Ammart coup intentioned forces will use, as their vehicle to pull the coup-trigger.

Right now it appears that the NACC is the chosen instrument, but we will see.....I am sure there is a master-plan with someone out there.

BTW, this has nothing to do with 'anti-govt.' or with 'protesters' as this article's title suggests........Coup-mongers are not anti-Govt, they are pro-coup....and those agitating for a coup are not 'protesters'. They are not protesting. They are coup-mongering...............However, they try to hide that.....pretending to be self-righteously indignant about this issue or that as cover for other intentions and pretending to be protesters.

Scamper, old son, they didn't clear an Army BARRACKS, they cleared a small Army POST - not at all the same thing. There IS a large barracks just around the corner from the NACC, about a mile from my house. I suspect the original soldiers came from there, but can't be sure.

Also Dr Bruce, where is your evidence that the monk has 'attacked and tortured' anyone at all, or even expects to?? Loose hyperbole like that just makes a mockery of your post.

Personally I think it's great that the NACC is now guarded by others than the red-shirt thugs. Let's just hope the UDD thugs don't come back in force ...

In other words, this quote is one of anti-democracy and pro-coup....The pro-coup forces are the righteous ones, and pro-democracy are the 'forces of evil'.

I am pro-Democracy and proud of it. In favour of electoral and Parliamentary traditions.

Good also to see the police reportedly being willing to interpose themselves, between the two groups, rather than doing a disappearing-act. thumbsup.gif

But strange that all these millions keep staying at home. The last "mass" demonstrations of the UDD were a complete disaster.....And the Ammart is Thaksin and his cronies...hardly the Bangkok middle class, southern rubber farmers and increasingly the cheated rice farmer.

Actually no one want a coup.....everyone want the Shinawatras leave, not a coup. A coup is just one way to achieve that if they don't want to leave. But a very problematic way.

Good also to see the police reportedly being willing to interpose themselves, between the two groups, rather than doing a disappearing-act. thumbsup.gif

Well they were always there when the red shirts need protection.....

I am pro-democracy and proud of it, but not when votes are bought, bullied and cajouled out of those not so smart voters... which is NOT electoral and Parliamentary tradition.

In case the news haven't penetrated your Red Shirt bubble the pro-democracy people at the NACC office have been caught red handed with grenades, grenade launchers, assault rifles and other weapons bearing the same lot numbers as those used in anti-government attacks that have caused dozens of injuries and some deaths.

So take your pro-democracy and shove it, you are supporting terrorists.

Good also to see the police reportedly being willing to interpose themselves, between the two groups, rather than doing a disappearing-act. thumbsup.gif

Probably found themselves trapped between the two groups and couldn't do anything stay.

What quote? Mine in italics above? That's anti-democracy? Pro-coup? How on earth did your addled brain reach that conclusion? Why should someone be pro-coup just because they believe in democracy? You should see a shrink - and soon.

I feel exactly the opposite to what you fantasise I feel. I am British and if anyne knows about REAL democracy, it's someone from Britain and other Western countries. It's THAILAND which has this weird idea that democracy is OK as long as 'I get 2 votes because I have a degree and farmers and taxi-drivers shouldn't have one because they didn't go to University' or 'I have more money than you so I should have more votes' ...

No wonder Thailand is a failed state when it believes that and has no-brainers like you thinking the way they do.

When a monk on his own berates a group of Red Shirts he is beaten up.

When a Monk has a gang of thugs he can capture and toture anybody he likes.

Anybody know if he found these 2 guilty and how much of a beating they got.

They capture red guards, one of them attempt to kill Luang Poo Buddha-issara with a knife.......

Do you believe in transparency, that the govt should be held accountable for the rice scheme, or do you think that blocking the NACC is the democratic way forwards?

In 2010 the protest leaders were paying the protesters to protest. I think there was even talk about ID confiscation to keep them there. ( Not sure if that part is true) In 2013/2014 the protesters themselves were funding the protests. Giving cash to Suthep. IMO that speaks volumes.

Never mind Friesland Boppe. Friesland is an Northern province of The Netherlands who actually want to separate from The Netherlands. So its easy to see where he's coming from.

Obviously the red shirts are trying to intimidate NACC while it considers negligence and possibly impeachment of their puppet PM. The multiple grenade attacks against NACC offices and red shirt threats to 'hunt down' the 'fake commissioners' make it bloody obvious what their intentions are.

You don't seriously think the negligence charge for the rice scheme is unwarranted, do you?
