Chalerm warns ‘neutral PM candidates’ to think carefully before accepting the role

PNPOL570331001000401_31032014_113026.jpg

BANGKOK, 31 Mar 2014 (NNT) - Director of the Center for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) and caretaker Labor Minister Chalerm Yubamrung has urged anyone who are picked by the People’s Democratic Reform Committee to take the role of a neutral prime minister to think carefully before taking up the responsibility.

His comment came as the possibility for Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to be impeached looms. The premier is scheduled today to testify on the rice support program fraud case. If found guilty, Ms. Yingluck will be removed from office immediately. And if that is the case, Minister Chalerm said the regulation dictates that the first inline Deputy Prime Minister, in this case, Mr. Surapong Tovichakchaikul, will take the helm of the administration.

In any case, he reiterated a Section 7 neutral prime minister should never be brought up while discouraging those who have been mentioned by the media to take the position not to accept the offer, saying their acceptance of the role may create a public backlash.

In regard to the plan to visit members of the media by the Network of Students and People for the Reform of Thailand (NSPRT), Minister Chalerm said CAPO has circulated a letter asking all media organizations to press charges against the NSPRT if they felt being menaced by such visits.

When asked about the outlook of a new round of election, Minister Chalerm was confident that his Pheu Thai Party would win the race again, pointing out that people have very much lost faith in the opposition Democrat Party, thanks to its boycotting of the previous general elections. He also touched on a request made by the protesters to remove the military bunkers, saying that the decision rests upon the military, not CAPO.

a non elected PM can only be in the case of a military coup, not that yingluck can be impeached.

she can be removed from the office only by the new senate

'Director of the Center for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) and caretaker Labor Minister Chalerm Yubamrung has urged anyone who are picked by the People’s Democratic Reform Committee to take the role of a neutral prime minister to think carefully before taking up the responsibility.'

Brando said it better in the Godfather

"I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse"

Though Chalerm might have paid heed to another line from the movie/book

"Santino, come here. What's the matter with you? I think your brain is going soft with all that comedy you are playing with that young girl. Never tell anyone outside the Family what you're thinking again."

If you substitute Chalerm for 'Santino' and 'aged whiskey' for 'young girl' and imagine the DL giving the lecture, it fits.

"Labor Minister Chalerm Yubamrung has urged anyone who are picked by the People’s Democratic Reform Committee to take the role of a neutral prime minister to think carefully before taking up the responsibility"

(To the editors) :Anyone" is singular so it should use the conjugation of the verb to be "is". Grammatical errors like this should not be allowed. It's ridiculous.

Other than that silly correction, Charlem seems to have accepted the fact there will be a neutral PM. Now he has to bully and threaten whomever: that has been the MO of this government for the past 5 months.

Don't forget Plodprasop Suraswadi he would be a great Minister of Culture as well.

You're absolutely right. With his background not only in pushing water but also his serving up dishes of endangered wildlife at the Chiang Mai Safari he would definately be in the running.

From Thaivisa thread:

CHIANG MAI: -- Visitors offered daily buffet of lion, tiger, elephant and giraffe meat; conservation groups outraged. Lovers of “wild” cuisine are in for a treat when Chiang Mai’s Night Safari opens next year, project director Plodprasop Suraswadi said yesterday. Visitors to the park’s Vareekunchorn restaurant will have the option of tucking in to an “Exotic Buffet” of tiger, lion, elephant and giraffe, for just Bt4,500 a head. With several restaurants offering visitors the chance to experience exotic foods such as imported horse, kangaroo, giraffe, snake, elephant, tiger and lion meat.

Good god, Surapong as acting PM bah.gif

The context of this though, is that Chalerm is issuing an implied threat to persons safety, as Jatta The Hut will be frothing at the mouth to unleash his thugs.

One think the new pm should do is to put Chalerm out of his misery and fire him right away

Pimay, not wishing to dwell on details, but I'm afraid the character you have labeled as Weera Musikapong is actually none other than Isaan Rambo himself, aka Suphon Attawong.

Jatuporn, Weng Tojirakarn (young Thida's beau) and Weera ...........................................................Top Gun.

I think Weera has a bit more "class" than the Rambo dude.

The anti goverment;/Chalerm groups may want to consider exchanging their whistles for a laser pointer. Show Chalerm what being on the end of a subitle threat feels like. I can see it now; dozens of little red dots following the man as he makes public, his incomptence.

You're absolutely right. I stand corrected. I would edit it but it is too late.
