I am a little confused though (easy for me). So lets me get this straight: you pay 30 baht and you don't get it back unless you BUY two beers?

And did the guy in the article say he actually HAD to buy the two beers? And he was late for his meeting for doing so? Why didn't he just forget the 30 baht? How much does two beers cost in Pattaya...at least 100-120 baht?

April 1st ......OK got it!

Has anyone gone to the beach to confirm this ?

Did I read the article right? The man said he had to buy two beers to get his 30 baht back.

Ridiculous logic. 2 Beers would cost way more.......duhhh.

Farangs should just avoid the place, make the businesses lose money.

How about we all just stay away from there for a day?

Thanks for a good laugh. The sad thing is that City Hall are quite capable of coming up with a scheme as hare-brained as this. Be careful what you wish for.

Well I wouldn't mind if city hall put toll booths at the entrance to the city in the weekends/holidays so non Pattaya residents pay a fee to get in or park their cars outside city limits and take a bus or whatever.

The sad thing is, if this were true, no one would be surprised.

And that is the truth.

Stupidity reigns. Only in Thailand, unless this was posted a day late for April Fool's day
