even I agree with basically what you are saying, corruption needs to be ended no matter who is doing it. YL though is in the thick of it, she is pm and head of the rice scheme, doesnt matter how stupid she is, she is the one responsible because she is the one in charge therefore the buck stops with her, just because she never sat in on anything doesnt come into it, she had a responsibility to do the right thing and she didnt. You must also look at what she is doing with her brother, issuing him a passport then refusing to answer to the courts as to why and not revoking it plus allowing a convicted felon to run her political party and tell them what to do, all of this adds up to corruption and again she is the one that is responsible as she is the leader, if she cannot accept the blame then she should not be the pm and their leader, she has no one to blame but herself.

well ok then let Suthep answer to HIS charges? and Abhisit? and what about Red Bull Boy? and all the rest??? my point is don't involve POLITICS corrupt IS corrupt, murder is murder - condemn it ALL

Reform??? YES start with the judicial system (bring in law of precedent, bring in juries and bring in justice for ALL)

Far as I know, Abhisit did not avoid any court meeting (or any other legal proceedings).

Not all legal systems have juries or law of precedent, and the two don't necessarily mean justice for all.

Politics and corruption go hand in hand almost everywhere, certainly in Thailand. Not quite sure how you want not to involve them?

Reforming the judicial system is a fine notion, but as the prevailing attitude in this country is to regard laws as friendly suggestions - not sure it will make a huge difference. Maybe the could start with trying to enforce some of the existing rules before changing the whole system.

If they can prove corruption in the rice scheme rather than mismanagement, then it should not be too difficult to trace where the money was embezzled. Do it, stop talking about it and throw those guilty in jail after taking all their ill got gains away from them. This is the only way to put a stop from pilfering politicians of all colours and persuasions.

I honestly do not think that either Abisit or Yingluck are corrupt, it is the "bottom feeders" such as Suthep who are the guilty ones.

now exceeds over 450 billion baht

he is a pupil of that great Mathematician Suthep right?

Do you have any figures to contest what he says?

Seems better than the usual conflicting and nonsensical attempts at figures usually put forward by the caretaker finance and commerce ministers.

Easy, all YL and her caretaker cabinet have to do is open the books to independent audit.

Or, perhaps they know where this 450 billion baht is? Maybe the same place as the 350 billion water management budget that has not been approved to be spent yet.

PTP use the old trick practiced by many governments around the world. Move the money from the left pocket to the right pocket and claim it's increased in value each time. But they got their own slant. Each time you move it siphon some off. Now they're shocked to see it's all gone! Their unbounded greed and open arrogance whilst flaunting their massive gains in wealth has come back to bite them in the arse.

Since YL took office - Shin clan wealth increased 450%. 1 billion baht returned to her criminal fugitive brother. (A government sending huge amount of money overseas to a convicted fraudster fugitive, who is wanted in court on 15 more serious charger, must be a first any where in the world!), Guess someone must be good at something. This would not happen and be tolerated in any democracy with justice and the rule of law, But TiT and she comes from election so can do as she pleases.

Now, I hope all those poor farmers remember to touch their forelocks when presented with any member of the elite HiSo Chinese Shin Clan feudal lords. Peasants should know it's there place to be screwed by he Shin gang, and then thank them for doing so,

How about your figures bother? Spouting more PRDC inspired bullshit. "1 billion baht returned to her criminal fugitive brother" Lol...straight from BlueSky to the pages of TV

Are you for real? And are you a real teacher? If you are a real teacher than I have to thank you. Because for a few years I'm trying to figure out why the education system is so <deleted> up in Thailand. Now I know it. Thank god you don't teach at my son school.

So sorry! i did not know that Yingluck gave money back to brother Thaksin, some fool told me that it was the courts who decided this money which was illegally taken, was to be returned.

But being a Democrat lie, i guess the uneducated working class mob have to believe it.

Read post #98. The figures quoted ARE wrong. It was 1 Bn$ USD and Not 1Bn Thai baht. Understated by about 32 times.

The figure shoud have read, MORE than 30,000,000,000 was transferred to Thaksina accounts and not a measly1,000,000,000 baht.

Do try harder to get your facts straight when making foolish claims unless of course YOU believe that Forbes lied to the world.

Edited for bad spelling

The Forbes article doesn't say anything about how that money was recovered. That it was recovered through the current government's corruption is just a yellow fantasy like the rest of the they spew about the Shinawatras.

I suggest you take a course in critical analysis of texts so you aren't so easily duped.

So how was that money recovered then, you say it wasn't through corruption. Where's your proof?

Mismanagement is a fact. Fact is also that she had been warned, and even given recommendations by numerous organizations including the IMF, world bank, academics and professors, you name it. She has done nothing with it.

Today we have the farmers who are waiting for their money, almost a trillion baht gone without any form of transparency or disclosure and people are still claiming that she hasn't been negligent. Unbelievable!

and while the rest of the thais struggle to make a living the fat cats are gorging them selves in a banquet of cash

and all the time the rice sits in storage, the more if it rots ( and "evaporates" out the back door)

The "rice pledging scheme" was never about poor farmers getting a good deal, first it was a tool where by billions of BHT could be coruptly syphoned off , seconed as another tool to convince the rural poor that PT is the robin hood of Thailand, now the TRUTH is out for all to see...not "Robin Hood" but ROBBING Bas...ds, but even now some people STILL believe PTs spin.......none as blind as those that do not want to see..............coffee1.gif

So how was it recovered then? You seem to know all about it so please explain it to the rest of us with proof and links of course.

Stop trying to whitewash YL, you won't get a dime from that money, so why try to clear a guilty person????

That's just what he does.

Feebly attempt to divert and lamely deflect.
