Can someone type her name in Thai so I know how it's pronounced? I want to say "ying" as in female (rising tone) and "look" as in child (falling) but maybe that's not right. I couldn't find her name in my Thai News app. Thanks!

I don't understand why it's always writen "Yingluck" because it's " Ying lak " ( falling and high tone ) look here http://www.thai-language.com/dict

So the average English speaker will pronounce it correctly, as in the English word "luck".

That the rest of the world will pronounce it as ying look is probably not important.

I'm sure one of the reason is the meaning "luck" in English is a bit auspicious, hence they've chosen to write it this way.
