So many misnomers. Democrat Party, Independent Agencies, People's Democratic Reform Committee. These groups ought to have more appropriate names that truly reflect their true nature. But that is a personal opinion.

Just like Peua Thai stands for 'for Thai' eh? Peua Thaksin is more appropriate, but that's my personal opinion.

well he would say that as hes a wanted man

No, he's not wanted. Wanted implies running from criminal charges or fleeing a court verdict like a spineless coward. {Remind you of anyone, hmm]. Abhisit on the other hand has stayed to face the charges against him, not wanted at all.

Yeah, same goes for TRT, PTP, UDD etc etc

May I add PPP.

If there are no links between the three, then why did the Democrats support the PDRC by boycotting the election? Why have members of the EC attended anti-election rallies? Why have the courts destroyed all their credibility by giving such blatant preferential treatment to the PDRC?

And soon we'll have the TV reds coming here telling is there IS a conspiracy and then they'll entertain us with their 'ammart' conspiracy theory without naming names nor giving us one shred of evidence! whistling.gif alt=whistling.gif>

You do understand that the moment you accuse others that disagree with your very narrow POV of being "reds" you've just machine gunned your own argument? You do not need to be pro-Thaksin to take a more informed view of what is happening out there.

This might be a bit of a jump for you but there is a fairly large amount of research and analysis available online that supports the manipulation of the courts and much more by an darker grouping. And no, for obvious reasons I'm not linking here - maybe do your own research if you are able to use google? It's out there if you bother to look rather than simply recite the memes.

And given the fact that Abhist has only been able to get himself into the PM seat because of what he calls "conspiracies", he is going to say that. He can't win any other way.

You do understand when you bring up a conspiracy theory without providing a shred of evidence, you've machine gunned your own argument? I am informed of what's out there. However, I am more intelligent than the typical red supporter who seems to believe every conspiracy the 'ammart' hating people are spewing.

While the courts here aren't exactly perfect, it seems to me every time they rule against the reds or the PTP, there's a 'dark' group manipulating events. And if they rule FOR the PTP, it's all good, the courts are fair. Talk about having things both ways!

Like I said, it's always entertaining when red sympathizers come out here and talk about the ammart. But they don't seem to know who these people are and provide evidence. It's a 'dark group' see! rolleyes.gif

That's four members of the Shinawat clan... Yaowapa, Thaksin, Yingluck and Priewpan.... all mentioned in short order here.

Perhaps if fewer family members were involved in politics they could relax a bit more. I'm sure the rest of the country would.

If the whole Shinawatra clan went to Dubai on a one way ticket Thailand would become a paradise again, more than a decade with corruption and abuse of power is enough coffee1.gif

Binj, your yawning avatar is so appropriate ... that's just what everyone else on here does whenever you contribute your usual nonsensical posts.

In your "ideal" Thailand, under the reins of the Shinawatra clan, the country would be bankrupt within five years.

Wake up and take a long hard look at the damage they have done, and then tell us all that you still think they are a force for good...! If you can do that, then any ounce of credibility you may have had left will be lost...!!

You are clearly living in red fantasy land !

Wait....if PTP thinks that the political system is so rigged that "independent agencies", political parties, courts etc. can conspire to overthrow a democratically elected government that works on legal principles it surely means they're supporting reforms before elections?

At least then "we follow the democratic way" (still my favourite/most listened to comment of the good PM) cheesy.gif

yo dude.

Why did not suthep and abhisit change the constitution when they were in power????? Because they like all the power it gave them.

Your argument is completely specious. They were busy trying to run the country, then to save it from the red rioters. There was no need to change the constitution then as the problems were not apparent. NOW the problems have become apparent and it is clear that change is needed. NOW IS TIME FOR REFORMS.

If after reforms the rural people still sell their votes to vote for Thaksin, after all he and his cronies have done (and don't forget how it felt to starve and to be in debt because of Thaksin and his merry cronies), and after all the corruption which has been revealed (both carried out already and planned for the future), then Thailand should not complain when the country goes down the drain and gets promoted to "Most Corrupt Country in the World".

Remember that his politicians will keep you on chemical fertilizers and sprays to make themselves rich and keep you poor. They will keep you in debt so that you beg for his handouts and impovershing populist schemes and keep voting for the wonderful man. One day you'll be able to call the wonderful man "President Thaksin" perhaps.

Don't complain in 10 years time that you are still poor because there will be no plan to make you wealthy. He needs you to be poor so that he and his clan and cronies get richer and richer. One day you will finally realize this. But then you'll still vote for him no doubt. Welcome to Amazing Thailand!

No, it isn't. It would help his cause if he and his party could come up with a few policies that appeal to the majority rural Thais instead of just catering to Bangkok special interest groups.

At the moment the anti-government elites have to rely on the courts to try and remove the elected representatives of the people. Military coups have been replaced by judicial coups. It is truly sad that the establishment elites cannot come up with something better than this.

Why did not suthep and abhisit change the constitution when they were in power????? Because they like all the power it gave them.

The fact is that Abhisit did nothing about reform when in power. As to his criticism of conspiracy theories, it would seem to be a little premature. It might make sense if an elected government was not overthrown by a partisan judicial system (with many judges installed on the back of a military coup). If the current government serves out its term and there is no imposition of an unelected "neutral" PM then Abhisit might have a point, and I would be the first to acknowledge it.In the meantime Abhisit should concentrate on making himself and his party less toxic to the Thai people so they might have a chance to win power fairly without resort to gangsters and compliant judges.

The caretaker PTP government dissolved parliament. Should they be re-elected in a new election they will start another 4 year term of office. They cannot complete their initial 4 year terms as they have dissolved it.

The courts and NACC must make all evidence and judgments transparent and public, regardless of what the decision is. Equally, PTP should "open the books" and show the reality. If they've been honest then they've nothing to fear and plenty to gain. If they've been lying, cheating and stealing then they should be prosecuted and if found guilty punished in accordance with the law.

Any government that puts itself above the law is not democratic, whether they came from election or not. Allow that to go unchecked will lead to a dictatorship. Accountability and transparency are key check and essential in any democracy.

It's disappointing there is no robust opposition challenging the caretaker government through political channels and the Democrats would do better to address their own failings to increase their appeal. But they received the second largest minority at the last full general election to PTP's largest minority and the gap wasn't mega, hardly a toxic reaction.

It's a very difficult situation though when a government cheats and abuses the parliamentary procedures, acts illegally, refuses to debate or provide information and openly defies court rulings.

In searching out as much as I can on this whole kettle of fish I came across this again the other day and explored it's branches and peoples mentioned.. and found it to fairly representative of the bigger picture that has preceded where we find ourselves at the moment..read it last year but failed to BM it.. but stumbled on it again... I am sure arguments can be made for it's truths and against it.. but found it to be most informative ...

No conspiracy here just the criminal actions of the government are being investigsted, I only wonder what took them so long.

well my question to you good sir is when is your beloved suthep going to go to court to answer the charges against him????????????????????
Well I guess as soon as there is no protest to protect him, so the sooner the yingluck goes the sooner suthep will follow.

See, a win win situation for us.

Well, here's a Reuters report that names names ... Pretty scary if this claimed conspiracy is true:

Jayboy, I'm surprised you didn't know that Abhisit DID do something about reform. He put together am independent reform committee to come up with proposals. Do you really think the red shirts would have let the Democrats make the changes that they wanted?

Yeah, stop fantasizing about reality and believe our lies. Concerted effort indicates complicity, if not genuine conspiracy. Abhisit should spend his time trying to figure out how to win an election, instead of telling people not to see and declare what is really going on.

I see a lot of TV poster that think that the government are being treated unfairly. In a sense, you are right. The government have been treated unfairly, because if they were treated fairly, then they would have been prosecuted a long time ago.

To be fairly treated under democracy is to be accountable for the passing of several illegal amendments. To be treated fairly is to answer why they have defrauded the farmers by taking rice from them and not paying for it. To be treated fairly is to answer to the taxpayer and be accountable for the over budgeted rice scheme. To be treated fairly is to answer why they replaced the head of NSC with a relative without any just cause. So all those that think the government has been treated unfairly, you is right. I applaud you for your stance.
