Swatch group faced pressure from the United States after refusing to open its factories to inspection by American terrorism experts, the head of the world’s largest watch company says.
Nick Hayek, in an interview with weekly German-language newspaper Schweiz am Sonntag, revealed that Biel-based Swatch had been subjected to requests by the US experts.
“They wanted without doubt to verify if it was possible to conceal explosives, poison or anything in the watches,” Hayek told the newspaper.

These paranoid "merkins" should inspect dildo factories. Much larger area to "insert" explosives.biggrin.png

Rubbish story. If there was an issue, the terrorism experts would have purchased a few and taken it from there. Why stop at Swatch? Why not Seiko, or Timex? What of Patek Philippe, or Rolex or Cartier?

Just a crap attempt to garners some free PR for a dying brand.

I hear in the next Bond Movie, Daniel Craig will wear a swatch instead of an omega. He will give up martinis for dark chocolate and resist the temptation to punch people.
