Petroleum sources in the North will be explored to promote national energy security

The Defence Energy Department and PTT Exploration and Production Plc. will jointly explore petroleum sources in northern Thailand.

An agreement on the joint cooperation in energy development between the public and private sectors was signed yesterday.

The study will cover petroleum sources in the ChiangMai-Lamphun basin. If the sources were found to have commercial potential, they will be developed for national energy security.
