Spanish immigration

Featured Replies

I am traveling to Spain with my my Thai wife landing at Barcelona airport, I am assuming that at immigration they have a EU passport line like in the UK my question is can my wife go through the EU line with me with her Thai passport.

Thank you

The EU passport line is for EU passport ;)

So only if Thailand join EU it will be ok ;)

The UK allow families that include non EU passport holders to pass through the EU passport line.

We didn't travel to Europe until after my wife had her British passport; so I can't answer from direct experience.

Neither can I find anything after a (admittedly quick) search of the appropriate EU regulations.

However, those regulations do state that a qualifying non EU national family member (e.g. spouse) of an EU national who is travelling with or to join that EU national must be admitted with the minimum of delay; so I suspect that the answer to your question is yes.

Unless someone can confirm this, all I can suggest is that you ask when you get there.

If you don't get a definitive answer here you might get one from the FA's on the flight.
