Turning a fino into a mio

Featured Replies

Been riding the wife's old Yamaha fino for some time and always thinking of replacing it but it still goes strong at 25000km. Trouble is I've never liked the style or colour. Someone told me that it's basically the same bike as the mio so could I just buy some new plastic and transform it?

moving to bikes.

it would probably work out cheaper to sell the fino and just buy a 2nd hND mio

unless you really want to do this yourself for entertainment /hobbie etc

Go to Yamaha and ask if the fairings are interchangeable. I doubt they are though, as it's it's definitely not the same bike. The biggest cost (if possible) would be the the handlebars and lights etc. New fairings would cost less than 3000B but with all the extras it just wouldn't be worth it. But like I said, I don't think the fairings would fit anyway.

You could make it a bit more Vespa looking. As has been said Mio plastic won't fit as the attachment point will be in the wrong place. Sell it and buy a Click 125?

Yes click 125! I was actually thinking the same thing myself!

New plastic from Yamaha, custom paint - whole 'nother bike.

Can even splurge for new wheels.

And cheap.

Actually replaced the wheels not long ago. Still goes well. Maybe keep it as back up
