Just received my 'China Economic Review' and one of the headlines is;

Dam in operation

The Three Gorges Dam was completed nine months ahead of schedule, as officials cheered the end of the thirteen-year effort. The dam cost US$22 billion and necessitated the relocation of nearly two million people.

Now, was there not a similarly grandiose building project here in Thailand . . . .

Such things are easier to accomplish in a communist regime,do you think the 2million skipped away merrily to there new location.If indeed there was a new location....

Sure places a new light on the posts in the various airport delay threads that say ALL major construction projects fall behind schedule.

Corruption in Thailand – sure

Corruption in China – sure

Difference being that while you may have used a source to get the job/contract, in China they still expect you to be able to do it.
