Redshirts hunt EC's Somchai

Lite Beer

Recommended Posts

Nah... they're not rude, low nor wild. They're actually a warm bunch of likable people, darling of the earth and so on. It is just that, unlike other people, they like to share the good with everyone... such as rotten fish, eggs and even human excrement. Oh, and also pig blood, in previous episodes, I believe?

But Suthep, the Dems & other yellows spend their whole life harping on about how corrupt Thaksin was. Well, they are full of what the reds were throwing.

Even though a lot the focus of Transparency's latest assessment of Thailand was on the slide in the country rankings, in fact the raw data showed that under Yingluck there had been a decrease in corruption, and also the raw data was better than under the Abhisit regime.

I'm sure you'll be able to provide the 'right' links to support your statements?

Yep, love to see that raw data.

Give him time, you cant expect the office to fab4ricate come up with it immediately.

You can download the data here http://cpi.transparency.org/cpi2013/in_detail/

threw rotten fishes, eggs and even human excreta

The Red Brigade collects feces for ammunition every morning. Wonder who in the red leadership contributes the most kaka on a daily basis. Maybe they have a competition:

1 pound of steaming dung from Jatuporn, vs. a semiliquid cup of yesterdays extra hot somtam squirts from Thida - who would want to be the judge of that? Only red shit slingers...

"rude, low and wild"

Sounds about right to me...

Agree. They responded to the allegations by acting exactly as described.

One more thing, maybe I missed this but was anyone arrested for any of this, or we're no laws broken?

6 pages into this thread and no one has commented on the real hero. The utility company worker who blew his whistle at the idiots and single handedly got into a 'discussion' with the Red Shirts.

He probably knew the odds were in his favour as there were only about 100 of them left.

What is also interesting is the related article from Thai PBS showing him going outside the hall to speak with about 200 assembled redshirts. Trying to intimidate Somchai may well be a waste of time.

It is hard to see how the protest at Lamphun town hall and those at the airport would have added to the support for UDD/PT. Beyond the actions of the government many things have occurred that continue to erode the support base of red/UDD at local levels.

The involvement of the local redshirt community radio bears consideration both in the context of it was used to incite any of the violence; and in the context of only being able to muster a maximum 200 in the face of what was being portrayed as such profound insults.

Clearly the reds/UDD enjoy the total support of this community thumbsup.gif

You guys make me laugh!

First of all you jump straight on yingluck for posting on her Facebook however when a person in this position goes to Facebook to make a point it's ok.

Second to the poster who remarked about the carry on at the airport and uneducated masses maybe he should reflect on the utter disaster the yellows caused not Thailand but the world with their actions several years ago

If you want to make it class warfare then maybe you could call your mob educated scum!

They threw shit. Human shit. They crapped in their hands and threw it. How can you defend these people?

If I remember correctly, the yellow shirts were non violent in their airport occupation, not that I totally agree with their actions, but they didn't intimidate, threaten or throw their own shit at anyone.

Black and white, no pun intended.

The ECs Somchai shouldn't have rotten eggs thrown at him, he should be on trial for his role in subverting democracy

Exactly. He should be charged with 'obstructing Dictatorship'. That's against the law in Thailand, right?

Ummmm someone on here with selective memory doesn't recall the events of 2008.

I was lucky enough to miss the fallout from their actions however two people I know who we're directly affected were a doctor and a friend who's mother passed away in nz and they were both stranded in Sweden.

Why should the world go on hold because of thai ploltics?

Thanks for responding.

I do indeed recall 2008, the airport-closures caused disruption to some of my in-laws on their holiday too, but I still wouldn't describe it as "utter disaster" for "the world", more of a local difficulty in one country for a few weeks or months. These things happen in Thailand from time to time, as in 2009 in Pattaya or 2010 & 2013 in Bangkok.

Maybe my world-view encompasses more than one minor S.E.Asian country ? There are worse places to be stranded than Sweden, I lived there for a couple of years, and I'm not sure how problems in Thailand would prevent one from catching an urgent flight to New Zealand ? The world doesn't "go on hold because of thai politics", which was the point I was trying to make. But perhaps we're getting off-topic or too personal.

Would you agree, that the local reds ought perhaps to apologise, to the airport-staff and passengers, who may have been frightened or intimidated by their actions ? Since they were nothing to do with the object of their ire, and who perhaps wasn't there anyway, re-reading the OP ?

My wife's aunt happens to be a staunch red shirt supporter, and she is well connected to the UDD mob. (I can't stand her).

But anyway, she was talking to her sister last night (MIL), and says that there is talk along the lines of if the government is removed by the courts, they will do everything they can to create havoc in BKK to put pressure on the courts to ban the Dems and call a snap election.

If that doesn't work, they are to lock down BKK and lay siege to it..

Block all roads in and out

Block the airports

not allow any food or water into BKK

Blow up electrical pylons to cut off electricity

If that still doesn't work, they are going to lock down the whole of Thailand, including

All airports

All land borders

All sea ports

and basically lay siege to the entire country until they get what they want.

This is what the UDD are actually training their army for.

So then what will the red farang say about the red shirts if they attempt that????

The red shirts don't give a flying f-ck about Thailand, all thy care about is their little king in Dubai.

I hope the army and air force bomb them to oblivion if they even try it.

They think they are above everything, but I hope they actually do this..... We will hopefully see the lot of them blown to pieces,.... They want to be martyrs for Thaksin?.... I am sure the armed forces will oblige them.

You can download the data here http://cpi.transparency.org/cpi2013/in_detail/

Or you can go to this site http://www.transparency.org/country#THA

And check it out.

You might also like to check the status of the openness of the budget information the Thai Govt gives out and how that openness has decreased since PT took over

http://internationalbudget.org/what-we-do/open-budget-survey/country-info/?country=th

For those who don't want to follow the link :

2012 Open Budget Index Score: 36%.

2008 Open Budget Index Score: 40%.

Thailand’s score on the Open Budget Index shows that the government provides the public with minimal information on the central government’s budget and financial activities during the course of the budget year. This makes it quite difficult for citizens to hold government accountable for its management of the public’s money.

....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

You will note that the openness increased when the Dems were in power and have taken dive since.

Another thing you may like to note is that the graph I posted earlier came from the same site rich teacher linked to.

Nice one.

I also have a link to the DEM website that allowed the public to openly see the fiscal movement of tax payers money. I repeat…It was transparent and not one court case was needed to ensure the public were to be involved (PTP water management scheme anyone)

The DEMs openly had a site that allowed the public to see their fiscal accountability when they were the government.

Guess what? The PTP shut that down because it did not suit the regimes agenda.

I can hear Fab4 now saying "No link" "this is agenda driven" with a few demonizing and belting words thrown in.

Guess what? I have a back door entry to it.

If you want to see it please PM me.

"They instead booed at the EC chairman and also threw rotten fishes, eggs and even human excreta at the van he boarded to leave the provincial town hall."

The dung flinging orangutans strike again. And this was not even their original target. And they are enraged because the original target did not show up to be attacked or killed. Once again, proof positive that it can be dangerous to tell the truth in Thailand.

Yes. That kind of courage is great to hear of, and more will be needed.

Wonder if the whistle-blower (he/she?) will be "hunted" and intimidated also, like others before.

what I find totally hilarious is the fact these idiots threw sh*t at people and they still try to claim they are not stupid. Think about it, where did this start, the answer is simple, just go to any primate zoo and watch them, they crap in their hands and throw it at others. This means that the reds are that stupid they had to steal the idea of throwing shit at others from monkeys because they werent bright enough to think of it by themselves. The iq of the reds is that low, no wonder these drop kicks arent capable of doing anything sensible and walk around with blank looks on their faces, pea brains come to mind and to think we have ouit own genuine backers in here, certainly explains a lot........

Richteacher, you still haven't answered my simple question. Where is Thailand now in the corruption table. It is an easy question to answer, clue Google is your friend. If you can not answer a simple question then it simply shows you have no interest in the truth, just propaganda. By the way answering my question with questions is not an answer., you may ask questions afterwards but an answer to my simple question is what is needed first. I will wait in vain for your response.

Throatwobbler why don't you post a link and let everyone know?

I guarantee two things, whether it's higher or lower, the difference will be only slight which debunks the whole Thaksin has to go because he is super corrupt and the Dems are only mildly corrupt and secondly the only way to produce a significant improvement in Thailands' ranking is for democracy to win out and provide a stable political environment for an anti-corruption mentality to evolve across all sections of Thai society.

Until then we can all continue to enjoy being able to wander the streets and buy cheap knock-offs and pirated movies.

Most people would agree that there is corruption in both of the 2 major parties and in all likelihood in the smaller parties as well

Why is PTP and Thaksin in particular the focus of attention at this time?

  • PTP is the party that has been and to a significant extent, sill is in power so the corruption is ongoing and causing more immediate and direct threat to the Kingdom and democracy here.
  • PTP is trying to remove the checks and balances to the executive power - remember that should this happen and another corrupt party comes to power then they will enjoy the same immunity. Law need to be made for situations not individuals/organisations that are there at any given time. For example if you look at the germander that kept the National in power in Queensland , AUs for so many years it was originally set up by the Labour party.
  • PTP has an even narrower group than the Democrats who exercise power within the party and this is primarily within one family. The more concentrated power becomes the more Dictatorial that Party becomes.

It is my belief that there will not be the level of reform that many are calling for before the next election, maybe the reform that is possible will only be a better adherence to the existing laws

I think that the Democrats strongest support comes from the actions of the PTP and in particular the dominance of the Party by the Shin Dynasty. I think the strongest support for the PTP comes from the historical and ongoing denigration of northern/northeast voters by vocal Democrats.

What ever happens I am sure that the number of votes given to the PTP will be very much lower than the last election - how this translates into seats remains to be see.

Pirated movies? You insult Thai. Thai corruption is a single, 2 trillion baht "infrastructure" spending bill where those spending the money do not have to account for how they spend it. That's all the money in the country or more. One bill with Thaksin's name all over it. Two trillion 2,000,000,000,000 baht. It would have been Thailand's great moment in history.

"I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of passing a single astronomic spending bill, seen by none this side of the moon, and returning it safely to one man. No single corruption project in this period will be more impressive to mankind, or more important for the long-range exploitation of man."
