Surin governor launches 'vice-free' policy

SURIN, 21 April 2014 (NNT) – The Governor of Surin has revealed that Surin province is operating in compliance with a vice-free policy, to control shops selling alcohol which lead to trouble and are contrary to social tradition and culture.

The bigger picture involves controlling the drug problem, casinos, the horse racing machine, and obscene media.

The social activities being promoted include art and culture, in order to develop good social conscience and community values in the youth of the day.

Vice like prostitute still a necessity for society even sins and diseases as it can reduce rape cases,

Singapore have Geylang streets for men to shop around, Hong Kong and others countries still allow red lights district .

Malaysia which banned on red light have problems where father raping his own daughter cases happen after banned on sex cannot get in public places which the result worst then ever.

Well at least they know what direction is better for kids. Kids in Thailand need more after school activities and sports to keep them occupied. Without those activities, they will use the youthful energy in other areas not as healthy for them.......wish you all the best luck....

What's his plan,- nuke the area?

Alcohol, drug problems, casinos, the horse racing machine, and obscene media.

Where did the guy grew up not to know these are the backbones of Isan's social tradition and culture.

This is no way for the Govenor to get re-elected. Instead of a "VICE FREE" Policy he should go for a real vote grabber............ A "FREE VICE" Policy.

Go on .... you know you would vote for him then. LOL!!!!

This paragraph is interesting for its implication that Surin is merely following orders. "In compliance with a vice free policy"? Whose, one wonders. And will we find it being rolled out in the fleshpots of Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, etc.?

Maybe somebody has decided tourists are more of a burden than a blessing after all.
