i read on here that some coins are worth more than their face value due to their metal content

is this still true?

only for older coins?

are the newer shinier 25 and 50 satang as worth while or of less value?

how about the yellow 2 baht coins, what are they made of?

feel free to add to this topic any and all knowledge and related topics, thanks

I suspect only older coins as current coins are copper-nickle or copper-nickle-aluminum (10 baht coin). Of course the price of copper has gone up substantially as shown by all the copper wire being stolen around Thailand including our research lab. biggrin.png

thanks

i read on here that 25 and 50 satang were worth more than their face value due to metal content

but now i see new ones that do not look the same as the old ones

and also yellow 2 baht coins

i have doubts about the 5's and 10's but i am a neophyte

i briefly looked at the site (nice thanks)

does it include the metal content and the amounts of such metals?

(i don't see that just yet there)

so one can determine if the metal value is more than the face or denomination value?

thanks
