Deckchair Operator stabbed by “Security Guard “ on Jomtien Beach
PATTAYA:--In the early hours of Monday Police dealt with a stabbing incident on Jomtien Beach which left a Deckchair & Beach Umbrella Operator with a stab wound to his stomach.

The incident occurred on the Beach opposite the Jomtien Welcome Hotel just after 4am. Khun Somai aged 45, was rushed to Banglamung Hospital with the serious stab wound, although he remained conscious throughout the ordeal.

According to the victim, three men, two dressed as Security Guards and a mobile food vendor were sitting and drinking on the beach but left a large amount of litter where they were situated, and when they were preparing to leave it appeared that no attempts to remove the litter were made.

This angered Khun Somai, who was preparing to set out his Umbrellas for the day ahead. He asked the men to clean-up the area before they left.

What has the "Umbrella-Erector" got to do with litter ? Litter is everywhere.

Seems like he was poking his nose where it was not required.

Khun Somai should have known better than to get angry at a group of drunken Thais.

Hope he recovers and the police find the "security guard".

I once had the pleasure of being on a near deserted Jomtien beach when another farang turned up only to discover that the deck chair he favoured was in use by another farang. As you can imagine there were several thousand empty chairs but no matter it almost came to blows over this one deck chair and its special position. Soon it will be plastic cutlery on Jomtien beach.
