April 26, 201411 yr Popular Post Nabbed at the airport. These Thais are on the spot. Your facetiousness is evident. However, arresting Sakoltee at the airport was a very smart move. There the authorities had maximum control of the situation and Sakoltee had minimal control, with no crowd of his guards, followers, etc. to protect him or get in the way of the police. Of course he was quickly out on bail ... and the police knew he would be ... but the court's new orders have hopefully given him some more rope to hang himself ... eventually. BTW, I'd like to see the present Taksin-dominated government out of power ... but by way of the democratic (i.e., democracy) process. Actually I'm not a fan of either side, but the actions of the so-called democrats are proving to be more fascist than democratic. Meanwhile, after being in control for many decades (centuries, really) by corrupt and illegal means, the big/old-money elite finally lost power under Taksin and now they are screaming bloody murder because they know another democratic election will keep them out of power even longer. Yes, you can argue that corrupt means were used to put the lower classes in power, but no more than the illegalities and corruption that enabled the rich elites to dominate and rip-off the poor for a very long time. It seems to me that the only time that the police could have arrested him was when he returned to Thailand. He would have passed through security in Korea and the police could have been certain that neither he nor any guards that were with him must have been un-armed.
