mama falang
Hi everyone, I'm trying to create a network of women in relationships with Thai men. I met my husband 10 years ago and we have been happily married for 5 years. Whilst we have many friends in cross cultural relationships it always seems to be the woman who is Thai. We have started a family and I'm looking for people in similar circumstances to share bilingual resources with, celebrate the joys and challenges of cross cultural relationships and hopefully arrange meet ups and in general to create a support network. If you or anyone you know fits the bill please look up Mama Falang on Facebook. We are living in Melbourne Australia but will be posting some great resources and interesting articles so please join our page regardless of your location. Cheers Mama Falang

As male Farang and married to a Thai woman that is not from the bar, we complete gave it up to be in contact to any other male Farang+Thai wife couples..... If the reason you gave it up is that the other wifes are/were bargirls, then you still have a chance. bina
same same.. here in israel i have a few, one of whom i met here on the forum funnily enough and it turned out she lives about two hours away and her hubby is from korat and he gets along with my husband, which is a rarity. she is much younger then me, but only a year behind in visa stuff (we got citizenship this past month for hubby). we are rare enough here to really stick out when seen together so once found one couple in an ikea store by following them to see if 'he was speaking thai' and then approached. she almost ahd a heartattack thinking i was immigration, as he was illegal at the time, now on the visa path, no kids, as she is an artist.hubby doesnt hit ti off with him at all.... also, here, mostly the men are from issaan and are here as labourers or cooks, that we met here. a few have kids. my husband however absolutely didnt want to meet of the thai men unless they were from korat (snob)... and frankly, our personal problems etc were often different (apart from visa blues) because i am a kibbutznik from a working proper socialist kibbutz and not a city/town person in privatized living. most of the couples are also much much younger then me. there are a few women from here that i am in contact with on fb ... which i found very nice (and will be visiting at least one or two of them in two weeks!!!!) .... we have a forum for israelis with foreign (non jewish)partners and there are one or two other women with thai partners but again, hubby has no inclination to discuss 'problems' with other thais that are not immediate family or 'like family' or from korat, in that order. so frankly, i might take a peek, but my way of living is so different to most people here -not to mention the racist/religious problems here, that i feel i just wouldnt find any common threads... but its a nice idea, and one i might try for here among the israeli set. BUT I AM REALLY REALLY GLAD FOR THIS FORUM (BEEN HERE FOR ALMOST 10 YEARS I THINK) especially to boo and sbk and cominghomesoon and a few others for guiding me thru the first few years and listening to my run on stories... its been invaluable in more ways then one, since here in israel i had no one to turn to for advice or who would understand our life complications... and will be in thailand in two weeks for three week visit after five /six years that havent been there... (hubby is already there as of two days ago... for two month family visit)...out in korat /soeng saeng area if there is anyone here close by, would love to visit

Goinghomesoon
Mama Falang I'll sign up We used to live in Bangkok but have been back in Australia for 3 years this month and have a 6 month old son. Wish we lived in Melbourne as I'm originally a Victorian, but sadly no! Our besties are another Aussie-Thai couple, but that's just a coincidence; we Aussie girls have been mates for nearly 20 years and just happened to both marry Thai guys that get along brilliantly.
