It"s really quite disgusting to use D"day here in Thailand. They do not have a clue about what happened and how many people died in the opening hours to liberate the world. This included Thailand, but they went with the flow then and afterwords. To big a topic to put on a post.I await the know alls.

Hi Bulekee,

I completely agree with you. Maybe you and I would disagree about some things - I am a lefty, and I don't know what you are. But even though I am left wing, I have huge admiration for Churchill (a Conservative), and I suggest that many lefties feel the same.

Churchill and the effort around D-Day helped "liberate the world" as you accurately put it. You are completely correct and I salute you for stating this so clearly.

My feeling is that Pridi was the hero in WW2 Thailand, but I need to read more about this.

D-Day --liberate the world....It seems you have as much knowledge as the Thais about the D-Day.

not Churchill, yrs he played a large part... But the USA saved Europe.

Please, not the world, EUROPE. the pacific war continued and CHURCHILL. Forsake Australia. So as far as many ozzies are concerned, he was as bad as any war criminal.

The date will be revealed at 7 o'clock tonight.

Well it's now ten past eight. Did I miss anything? If it was that earth shattering an announcement surely the worlds media will be a buzz with the news? coffee1.gif

If you had bothered to watch Blue Sky TV, you would have known what he had to say!

Or do you only get your information from the Red Shirt community radio stations?

No I have a life, which does not involve watching or listening to Blue Sky or any other political media.

I support what he says. I and many friends have only seen more and more opposition to business going forward. Corruption has advanced at super fast rates. I wont detail what I know here nor what I experienced.

However, I do think suthep has now lost and has been outsmarted in this political event.

However, I do not yet think all this saga is over.

What I have learnt here in LOS, is that when our seemed time frame is apparently up, the Thai time frame is only half way through.

I have not yet seen court verdicts nor have I heard the fat lady singing

I think you are pretty right with what you have said and it would seem there is certainly a lot more to come. Now whether Suthep is involved or not doesn't really matter from here on in as he has been the catalyst up till now and irrespective of what people think of him, you can't deny he has certainly brought to the fore the corruption, graft and ineptitude of what was and is now the care-taker government.

Also, heading up this protest for 6 months has certainly been no mean feat and from what ever side you are from credit is surely due for this effort - wouldn't think you could ever hope to see YL or even Thaksin in his prime coming anywhere near to this undertaking.

The next month or two could prove to be very interesting for Thailand's future.

Very well said. I haven't given up hope on Thailand's future yet. Thanks to Suthep, the vile workings of the Thaksin machine, (regime) has been brought to light for all Thailand to see and ponder. Now its up to the voters to change the direction Thailand is moving in.

funny... you will see the 'voters' (if given a chance) will vote anti-ammart and vote in the lesser of the two evils again

Dems will get slaughtered as like last time and Suthep? he'll be seen as a megalomaniac loser probably sitting in a cell somewhere screaming "FINAL PUSH, FINAL PUSH"

It's nothing new in this kind of conflict that after The Leader has finally shot all of his wad he gets carried off on the shoulders of his cheering fist-pumping admirers, is given a golden something - in this place, time, circumstance a whistle - whereupon The Leader declares victory in the face of undisputed and absolute defeat, then is gone.

Suthep needs a reasonably dignified exit for himself so you who appreciate his madness really should consider giving him one.

Many posts to the thread read like a newspaper obituary or World Cup losers so you guys should get out more, give Suthep more than the cold shoulder he deservedly got from the mass of the people. Pitch in to carry him away. It won't be the first time Suthep got carried away, but it will be the last.

The final proclamation from this Thai seditionist. He should be arrested immediately, tarred and feathered. Just like the old days.
