Cheapest Way To Ship A Textbook to USA?

Featured Replies

Hi!

I need to ship a textbook back home. Was wondering which route is the cheapest? Thailand Post? If so which one should i take? Approx. how much will it cost?

Need the book to arrive in less than 1 week.

I am confused which service to take...SAL...etc??

You need to send it by EMS if you want it within about 1 week.

What about international prnted paper - Air?

EMS = 1 week if you're lucky, otherwise you're looking at FedEX, etc.

EMS is the fast option which is why it's generally the most expensive, it's the post office equivalent to a courier.

SAL will probably be a little slower - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surface_Air_Lifted

If I must have whatever I'm sending there ASAP then I use FedEX or DHL, even then you can be pushing it depending on customs.

EMS for speed, otherwise Registered Airmail has tracking and is around 14 days.

Alternative: get whoever needs it to buy off eBay.

Possibly you could train a pigeon, strap the thing to its back ,and release it,but probably to heavy, maybe a dual pigeon team.

Er,yeah, looks like my laptop has dropped into a cave full of trolls, but lucky for me the eagles flew to a lovley spot, where i am enjoying a cup of tea,and some cucumber sandwiches, with a little chap called Bilbo,i think we are somewhere in Russia, possibly Jomtien. oh sent from my super intergalatic i phone.

The seller might be in the USA and they often ship free or at significantly reduced rates.

Another option, is the textbook available as an e-book? The recipient could have it in minutes.
