Last I know before Suterp screwed up the economy was that we had a positive GDP, surplus current account, improve +BBB credit rating, increase foreign reserve to USD180+, positive trade balance and FDI up a record 77% over 2012. Oh, more. Unemployment at 0.7% (4th best in the world) and recognition by UN as one of the great development success in social and development.

Ya, we certainly heading for a failed regime if Suterp or Ahbisit got their way. Probably treated as pariah by the world community.

You really have to read more and come out of your closet.

And you miss the well recognized point that in general terms Thai business gets on with making money and growth regardless of government policies.

But perhaps you would like to see Thailand continue to be a fake democracy, run by a fake puppet, all of the gang members (the paymasters get real rich real quick club - no capabilities or morals required, just salute when your told too) having no quarms to rape the wealth of Thailand and no hesitation to avoid / ignore / change the laws of Thailand for massive personal gain.

Perhaps you've forgotten that over 1 million farmers have not been paid for over 6 months and more and perhaps you've forgotten that someone has silenced them.

But perhaps you see all of this as a healthy picture of democracy?

I suppose all good things happen to those that wait. No, I am not talking about Suthep. I'm taking about Khaosod. One must hand it to them. They wrote an entire article about Suthep without their inimitable Thaksin stamp on it. They included an attractive - and frankly impressive - photo. They ( doubtless to the immense consternation of their readers ) actually admitted " several tens of thousands " of supporters. And guess what ? They weren't " storming " or " crashing " either. They were orderly, peaceful, jubilant. So credit must be given where credit is due, Khaosod. A tip of the hat.

The whole question of the PDRC is - can they maintain a peaceful movement ? If they can - Thaksin's narrative is cooked. If they can't - Thaksin's narrative is strengthened. The PDRC remains a viable movement if they remain peaceful. They have a right to be there, and they have a right to express their views. As long as those views are peacefully expressed, no one has a right to touch them. Goodness knows, they've been through enough attacks already. For those who think the movement will evaporate at the first sign of resistance - they have had plenty of resistance heaped ( or thrown ) at them before - or haven't you noticed ? - and if they were to abandon ship they likely would have done so long ago. These people - men and women - are motivated by a belief in a Thailand that is free of Thaksin's influence. Many might scoff at this assertion, and yet if you stopped and asked any one of them, Thaksin's name would come up again and again. And again. Thaksin has bound this movement like a glue. Without him, the PDRC would never have existed. It is of course, the ultimate Thaksin irony. He has himself created the PDRC.

But at the end of the day, the power of this drama must be in the hands of those who work through the constitution. The courts have that power and their rulings must be respected. For those who believe in compromise - and in politics there can be no other practical reality - will need to sit down and talk sooner or later. When they do, Abhisit's plan will serve as a very promising starting point. Pheu Thai - don't shut the door.

The EC legitimised the final vote without being able to fully investigate the highly reported incidents of intimidation, retribution and graft due to to time constraint. I think you need to read your own Abhisit's comments:

Then you have to learn about what a farce the elections are; even to be called as such. Coercion, vote buying, red villages.
