Caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra summoned a special cabinet meeting at about 10 am today to discuss the Election Commission’s request for another meeting with the cabinet to discuss the draft Royal Decree setting the date of the election.

The EC wants to add a clause in the decree authorizing the EC to postpone the election if there is an unrest on the polling day or an untoward situation which will render the election impossible.

BANGKOK: -- Caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will watch at office of Defence permanent secretary the live broadcast of the Constitutional Court’s ruling on whether to dismiss her from office in an abuse of power case.

Yingluck in the morning held a special cabinet meeting there to discuss the Election Commission’s request for a new round of meetings regarding the draft for the Royal Decree for an election on July 20.
