is anyone having water delivery problems?

my friend is having problems getting water delivered to his house. his usual guy says he can't get water anymore, not enough at the fill station, and the other drivers don't want to come to his house, they say its too far away.

i wonder, if its true that the delivery people can't get water any more, or that they just don't want to deliver to my friend?

No problem with bottled water delivery in Rawai

We buy 3 or 4 bottles at a time at 12 baht a bottle and get same day delivery

Yes i know a lot of people pay 10 baht but who cares we get good service

The tanker guys have to wait hours to get a fill due to reduced water table and time to draw water up. Plus they are having to drive about to find places with water. My Patong guy tells me he has a 3 hour wait, now has to drive to Kamala for water. I thought he would be making more money but he tells me he makes less money as he can only service one customer every 4 hours, usually he services 4 customers in 4 hours.

As LIK says, our water guy told us he has to wait 3 hours to get enough water from his well to fill one truck & he cannot deliver water which we need for swimming pools as he has ongoing contracts with resorts & they take priority. Have tried other water truck guys & get the same answer.

Proper rain forecast for next week. Let's hope it happens.

absolutely, but i think it will take a lot of rain (weeks not days) to get the underground water levels back to good levels.

Looks like the weather turned last night, now weather coming from the south south west, so for sure we can expect rain in the next few days.

We have given up topping off our pool some weeks ago. Lucky to get tanker water to supply toilet and shower water.

When I built the house I now live in, I had the choice of getting connected to government water.

I decided not to for two reasons. They wanted me to pay 40,000 Bt to pay for the pipe from the main road to the house and also, I knew that they messed about with the pressure during the dry season.

You hear lots about there being enough rain on Phuket during the year to supply all of Phuket and that there really shouldn't be a shortage.

This is true, but, the only effective way to realize this and make it fact is for the government to build more reservoirs, which they have actually been doing.

There is no way that the average house-holder can build water storage tanks for three to four months water usage. Those that say using stored water during the rainy season helps add water to the water-table are wrong. If this was true, there would be very little run-off to the sea and land-slides wouldn't happen.

There is a huge dam in surat thani province and if they built a pipeline to phuket from there

the water shortage problem would be fixed perminantly

Should be easy to do nowadays the goldfields pipeline in Western Australia is 530 klm long

and was completed in 1903 without the machinery avaliable now

Govt water is useless in Rawai at present if you do not have storage tanks its turned of and on every day

windguru (and my own eyes) seem to back up your observation. windguru is now predicting constant light to medium rain for ever day for the next week or so and wind from the west. finally i think we can start to see a bit of cooling down and nicer, wetter weather

There's not much water left in the tanker lakes for Patong.

In the top end of Kamala we have been going weeks at a time without Orbortor water.

Gotta buy a tank load tomorrow.

At last, at last. Started raining here in Kata. Tepid start with a few spots of rain. Now quite steady big drops. But weather from the south so not fully turned yet.
