Popular Post AleG
Can you imagine the reaction in any other country if there would be a months long series of deadly attacks like this in a city? Do you remember the Washington Sniper? Man and son team terrorizing the area by shooting at people on the streets. There was an enormous, immediate man hunt to find them, here, Amazing Thailand, months of terrorist attacks and no reaction from the authorities to find the culprits, just yesterday a grenade was fired into a building of Rangsit University and the police reaction "oh, they didn't mean to hurt anybody". <deleted>!!!

kkerry
Can't really compare Thailand to most other countries because most other countries have a functioning police force who would have prevented people from obstructing public roads and buildings for months on end. Masked thugs acting as judge, jury and executioner get to decide who goes where while the police are powerless to do anything. This poor man who has been murdered... the story doesn't seem to rate a mention in either of the two main English language news websites so far... all a very sad indictment of the situation here. fab4
I hope they get them who did this so far they have always send the guards to the police when they committed crimes. They don't hide and protect them. Its a big shame and no excuse for their behavior. Do they? Has "buddha" issara handed over the five (police say 10 are wanted for attempted murder) security guards that beat up and shot Col Witthawat Wattanakul? He only said the guards would surrender themselves to the police. There has been nothing in the press and the Police are not slow to announce arrests like that. The police should grow some gonads and go and arrest the culprits. What are they so afraid of? Bunch of pussies. The police in this country are useless, and have proved so time and time again.
Scamper
Yet again we have the very clear and cowardly targeting of protesters when they were sleeping, as well as the army - in lieu of the police's presence - that has been assigned to protect them. For those who outrageously call this " an attempt at sympathy " with " fake bombs " hurled at an " empty bunker " - what kind of mind would construe this as sympathy - sympathy for whom ? For those that hurl bombs at innocent people when their sleeping ? What mind could construe that a fake bomb can't produce injury when it is clear that they can ( Likely because the bombs are real to begin with ) ? And how in the world does this person know the bunker was empty ? None of that is covered in this report. What this news story reveals is that there are sick minds who are throwing real bombs at innocent people, with the intent to kill, harm, and terrorize. To conclude otherwise is simply appalling.
jonclark
BNC that picture is a bitter and tragic reflection of what modern day Thailand has become. A country bend double; bleeding with its guts on the pavement for the world to see with its' life and future draining away. And all the while the two opposing sides continue to twist their knives deeper and further into its broken dying carcass ... all in the name of democracy. I love the red shirts! You know that it was The Red Shirts? Using the scientific theory method, we will accept "red shirts" as an acceptable answer until a more plausible theory is provided, or until evidence is found to prove the theory wrong. If you have an alternate theory, please supply it, if only for our amusement. BTW Thaksin's hired mercenaries is only another way of describing red shirts. That you do not understand it is sad, but distortions of facts and straw-man arguments will not deflect from its effectiveness.
