Asian Shooting Range (Saku) - Expensive?

Featured Replies

This is a new shooting range near to the airport. I dropped by to check on prices, since it might be of interest to my hotel guests (that's if I have any left after the martial law imposition - ha ha!!).

There is a range of firearms, ranging from .22, .38, up to some shotguns.

The customer price for 10 bullets or shot gun cartridges varied from 750 - 1,100 baht, according to the caliber.

I haven't been a shooting guy for many years, but these prices sound rather high to me, considering that the shooting range infrastructure consists of nothing more than a car-park, earthen shooting area with old car tyres, and a customer toilet.

Am I being a cheapskate? More than $30 for 10 shotgun cartridges seems expensive. How much does ammo cost in Phuket?

Simon

tourist price, locals can apply for membership even falangs (if they like you) but you need to bring your own guns (friends, wife,gf) and you need to pass a course otherwise you need to pay same price as tourists..

They do discounts, can get 10 shots for 500 THB

That's at the outdoor one in Thalang

I went with some out of town friends to a shooting range. Yes the ammo is expensive, I think it was about the same price as you're quoting in OP. However, when looking at the bullets, they were not originals and had been reloaded, so quite often the lead wasn't straight, and half of the firings resulting in a misfire. One of these days there's going to be a serious accident! In addition, the range "owners" didn't seem like the friendliest bunch, but they did let us take photos even though there were " no photos" signage all around the place.

I should take some photos of the English language signage at this new place - it was the most appalling English I have ever seen (Google Translate).

@Falkan, I have no interest in shooting at this place - my enquiry is only for my hotel customers.

You can always give your guests a discount of the same amount as the commission you're receiving.

The commission was as appalling as the English signage :)

Maybe I'm tight-fisted, but I think 1100 for firing 10 shotgun cartridges is way over-priced, so I won't be promoting it to my guests.

BTW, I promote value-for-money tourist attractions to them, regardless of the commission level or zero commission.

The number of value-for-money attractions that I recommend has been reducing over the years as retailers get greedy, but there are still a few good attractions to visit.

Sounds cheaper than Samui. Check out the picture I took last year(March), of the price list in the local shooting range.

Jeez what crazy prices! I can understand now why people go and shoot cows in Cambodia...

Closed down.

Oh and I never got to try it. Isn't there one heading out of town near one of the Go-kart tracks?

West, and up the hill toward Patong on the right.

I am a regular and have never seen prices like these...outrageous. My own weapon, I purchase "Thai Military" 9mm FMJ at THB 800 per box 50.

...yes but bring your gun, ammo and you only need to pay for the supervisor..

Personally, I have little interest in shooting unless the target has feathers and tastes good with cranberry sauce after being hung for a week.....
