sawadee1947
well, it might be peace for a while, but the whole thing will start again with next elections, when PTP will win again. Will they never learn????
chrisinth
<script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script> Quote Quotejust love it when the thaksin lovers start putting down anyone trying to sort all the sh*t he caused out. If the army can get rid of the corruption and shins Thailand will be a much greater country for it. Now we may well see thaksin dragged back in chains to face all of his other criminal acts, the ptp dragged before the courts as well as the yellows and reds. If done right this will end all the sh*t God you really are not the brightest. If the army couldnt curb corruption in their previous 13 coups why would this one be different? Thaskin lives in a different country over which the Thai army has no control. Unless you are suggessting some kind of Thai invasion of the UAE? So sad people like yourself are just too dim to realise what this is really about Sorry, don't get that point at all. Since when has it been up to the army to curb corruption? That is not part of their job description. The army are currently leveling the playing fields as neither side can agree on any points. When adults act like children they need to be controlled. And just to keep this viewpoint neutral, it may have started with Thaksin (the initial protests achieved their goal by dismissing the proposed amnesty bill) but Suthep in his arrogance has done an equal (?) amount of damage here by increasing demands at every juncture. The curbing of corruption comes from the government (whatever colour) and the RTP. Don't hold your breath.................
Chopperboy
If Thailand wants this to go away they need to adopt the psychological warfare tactics of the western shadow government...Behind the scenes control of all political parties (fake left/ right divide)Total control of the mainstream media, blending fact with fiction in the newsPropaganda & mind manipulation through TV/ film/ media/ music/ publicationsUse of pressure groups and think tanks to assist in the manipulation of public opinionWide spread use of psychotropic drugs both prescription and "illegal"Fluoridation of the water (dumb down the host population)Total intelligence spy grid monitoring all internet, emails/ phone conversationsPaid SHILLS to control/ hijack on-line decentUse of weaponized cancer, plane crashes, accidents, fake suicides and other techniques to eliminate potential threats.Use of divide and conquer tactics i.e. mass immigration, promotion of "rights" groups
Popular Post Mister Fixit
It was likely inevitable. Prayuth wanted to see if a consensus could be found. As Dr. Weng for the UDD said today, he didn't see anything that they and the PDRC could agree on, which was actually a pretty sound assessment. And then of course Thaksin today had to immediately put his foot down on all three proposals Prayuth made. ( Great timing, Thaksin, as usual. It likely that was the only reminder needed of a back to the future moment ). So the slate looks like it has been cleared, and a resolution through the Senate seems more and more likely. Agreed. I also think that Prayuth was trying gauge the mood yesterday, sent them all home to have a think how they wanted to proceed, then the acting caretaker paper-clip counter stamped his feet and said he wouldn't come and play and would only send his friend, Thaksin just couldn't resist mouthing off, they all threw their toys out of the pram, THEN these UDD weapons arsenals were found in a trice, so Prayuth lost his rag. Where the idiots have been taken, I do not know but I doubt they have been arrested and imprisoned. More likely they will be detained until such time they have had time to reflect on things (may take a while for a few of them) but I suspect they will be back round the table soon enough, unless they continue to play silly billies. Prayuth strikes me as an intelligent moderate person and as the most senior military person in Thailand, I doubt he will faff about letting people play games. Would you? The whole idea of being a military officer is to get things done, quickly and efficiently, and that's what he's done. Good show, sir!

blumenkraft
And so Thailand again demonstrates to the world how completely useless they are when it comes to politics. But of course, those that stand to benefit from a military coup simply don't care what the rest of the world thinks. They are not Thai, they will never be Thai, and so therefore do not understand. What a pathetic show. Carry on idiots.

If you don't remember how it was living here during the last one you will change your tune in a couple of weeks. I was here all through the last one. Had a great time. What are you talking about? Dasekel
Yippee! (About bl**dy time.) Oh dear, now there may well be even bigger problems I don't think that this makes anything worse. Despite the martial law, both sides continued to try and defeat the other side, which never would have solved any problem. Therefore, sooner or later things would have gotten ugly in any case. The coup does not really make matters worse. It is the leaders on both sides who are to blame, not the military

huanga
No wonder the acting PM did not attend the meetings yesterday & today - someone must have tipped him off that the participants might be detained. Does it matter? It's a coup! The armed forces have assumed power! As of this day on, PTP is out as the ruling government. Military is in. What we are looking at now is interim government-reform-election. Time table? election might take place soonest in at least 1 year to two years. indyuk
What an utter disaster. Now we have thousands of wannabe Napoleon's trying to run the country better than all those posers that sat in Parliament watching porn on their smart phones. Now we have a military government whose most memorable action in administration was the discipling of a Thai actress, then suspending her from university because the split in her skirt was to long when she went on stage. God help us!
Popular Post EnglishJohn
You have to ask yourself why the government were so unwilling to allow any kind of reform process. I expect Thaksin's order to his employees at Pheu-Thai to fight the Martial Law with every means possible is what triggered it. They had their chance and they blew it. I expect Teppichfresser Thaksin is face down on the floor lunching on some axminster now.
