Oh man. And they were doing so well. Guess they couldn't resist the cookie jar once they got so close. This shows that no progress has been made or is planning on being made in politics and the military can basically take over whenever they want to regardless of laws or government.

Way to prove all the critics right! I was hoping for so much better.

You really don't get it! Do you!

You're right. I should stop hoping for better. The military and the elite will always be in complete control or take it back if they loose it to the people. I should stop whining about it.

Well that flushed out some more! BTW it's, "Lose"

Channel News Asia has some great coverage in English now

what channel is this on True?

Channel 40 & also BBC now on 41

Not sure of service provider as condo based but I think WETV?

OK, thanks, cheers. Those are different channels on my system. I think I don't get Channel News Asia. Only BBC. and CNN, but I won't watch that!

Seems the Military called a fake meeting of heads of both Reds & Yellows then arrested them all?

11 folks from what I can understand Suthep & Jutaporn included

Shows Chalerm how it can be done, without the usual "I will be coming to get you in a skirt" song and dance thumbsup.gif

Hey what happens when you do not do your homework or tell the teacher to piss off.

Both sides knew that they had to play nice or the army was going to slap someone sily.

Thaksin told the army to piss off that he was not going to dohis homework unless he got what started this in the first place.

OH well now Jatuporn can scream and yell all he wants. The PT played right into Suthep's plan. First yingluck and big brother dissolve parliament, then they appoint Chalerm as their mouth piece and then they tell the army to get stuffed.

Smart move for the army is to take Suthep and thida in an area and see if they without outside calls can get anything done to put someonethat both the UDD and PDRC will accept.

The General could be seen rolling his eyes and they all heard him say, CHECK AND MATE. The other groups looked surprised, and they all said at once, WE DID NOT EVEN KNOW THAT HE WAS PLAYING!

Seems He was not playing.

Good move. That is why he is a General.

Everyone in Thailand is now or will soon be losers, there are no winners over the long run. Suthep will soon be released and there will be a clamp down on the red shirts and PTP. Within a year we will have a government in exile, sanctions and an insurgency war. Childish games by people with too much power.

Yes, I am afraid things will get much worse. I am sure in the next elections they won't let the Dems lose, they will rig the elections, so the army won't need to intervene again against the wills of Thai people. There is no way out . Poor Thailand.

maybe thaksin, the ptp, suthep and the reds should have kept their mouths shut and just let everything settle instead of provoking this, no one to blame but themselves

edit, more scum added

I must agree

They where give no just 1 chance but to, fix it or get out

Sounds to me like bot side not want to loose face and just stuck to their guns with no give or take

Every one keeps saying PTP will win the next election with a land slide

But is seems the caretaker from directions from Thaksin did not feel the same

All they had to do was yes sir no sir and sooner or later they would have gotten the election and in the mean time would hold onto the caretaker mode

with neither side ready to give just a little, they both are responssible for giving the Army no choice

Not the red shirt backers will be on verbal diahrea that the caretakership was taken from them

when the truth is

they gave it away

because they believed that Thaksin is greater than Thou

He may have cost Thailand quite a bit in aid including

military aid.

By US law the USA must now suspend aid starting with military aid anytime

a country is taken by military coup

Brillant trap.

Now all uncompromising, selfish, corrupt and criminals are out of the game.
If all these players get a lifetime ban from future Parliament, there is reason to hope that Thailand gets for a change,
honest politicians who have the good of the country in mind and not just their own bank accounts.

Wife just read on her faithful facebook that the military round all the leaders up and hauled them away...................[hopefully in a small room with hammers for each one] and let them work it out for themselves. Hopefully it will be filmed for us to see at a later date.

Makes me wonder if/or when they'll shut down the internet, which is much more dangerous than the propaganda TV.

Will they let Suthep out for his victory party or will they keep him in custody in the army camp?

I think they should let him be the interim PM. He deserves it and has a lot of support. He is very popular amonst those who count and matter.

Great news. For all of those predicting doom and gloom it will cause no harm at all, it will only achieve good. My wife and almost the entire town are delighted. shows what they think of the politicians.

By all accounts the BBC are portraying that the country has entered WW3. The people I feel sorry for are the hotel owners as foreigners are cancelling in droves at the moment.

I do have one question. Where is Yingluck. I have not been following much lately does anyone know?

NO holidays in a military dictatorship, I cancel my stay and go to the Philippines. Thailand is going down the drain.

I think you've told us all three times. Enjoy your sojourn in the PPI, a much safer place than here. They say Angeles is nice this time of year as well as Subic.

Getting to the airport should be no problem. Wave to the soldiers as you go through the entrance.

Thai army orders all radio and TV to suspend normal programmes

BANGKOK, May 22, 2014 (AFP) - Thailand's military on Thursday ordered all television and radio stations to suspend their usual programmes and show only the army's broadcasts in the wake of a coup.

The move was to ensure the release of "accurate news to the people," an army spokesman said in a televised announcement.

No convicted criminals in Parliment

Yes things will get really bad for Thaskin when he can not use his corrupt ways at an election
