Former PM Yingluck May Be Detained For '3-7 Days'

Recommended Posts

As I mentioned before, and without taking sides......Why stage a coup (in 2006) when the PM is in the USA and then complain that he is a fugitive, responsible for all the problems?. Surely, any general worth his salt would have waited for him to come back and then acted. Bingo!

Tired all that bashing.

TV should open some threads about the demo's going on against those generals that took over the country but I think TV don't have the balls and the only thing they allow is the bashing against the red shirts and the Shinawatra's to increase some more traffic to their Adsense ads.

Those guys and gals that are now on the street demonstrating against the generals are the real hero's of Thailand and the number will get bigger by the day. Yesterday 100, today 300 and tomorrow might be 500 and in one month 20,000.

Having been since 1987 in Thailand I do not trust the generals. They had enough time to plan out to appoint an independent as the acting PM but they appointed them-self. Great job three month before retirement Prayuth can add himself Acting PM.

11 coups and 9 failed coups in 65 years and this guy wants to bring reforms, also Thailand has been ruled many years by the army? The army has been part of the problem for so long time in Thailand and the army need reform and of course all political parties as well, starting with the PTP and the Democrats. The PTP needs to get rid of the Shinawatra clan and also of the Suthep clan in Surant Thani from the Democrat Party.

Laws must be followed and if prostitution is illegal in Thailand all bar owners must be prosecuted and as well the customers. Thailand has to change from every side starting with the sex industry to get rid of the police that has been pocketing money for far to long. Yes I know it will never happen so that's why I believe their will be no reforms. I wouldn't mind if reforms can be done and everyone follows the book of the law, so lets stop NANA, Cowboy, Patpong and shut down the whole Pattaya because as it is illegal.

Rest assured the Thai generals will not shut it down but soon will start sharing the money with the BIB. That's why Thailand will never have a reform. Everybody is in for the money so nothing will really change. I still remember the time when Thaksin wanted t shut down the bars and everybody on TV complained.

Lets be serious many of the TV posters (Yellow Piss Suckers) are here for cheap pxxxy and most are unable to afford a wife or GF in their own country and I classify them either as bold hairs, fat stomach etc.

Its called gloating Donnie, ignore them. Like a bunch of kids giggling over a porn mag at the back of the classroom.

Hmmm. Yeah "giggling" to a porn mag is right on the money . . . . . . . . on SOOOOO many levels.

A sea of fiddler's elbows and the floor of this forum covered in their crumpled wads of Zilky.

"Sometimes, 'fuggedabowdit' just means fuggedabowdit. . . . "

Donnie it's obvious from your posts and your hobby of beating up pedophiles you were sexually abused as a child. Please go and vent to a professional not the forum.

Only a few clappers for you rant? Why not add a few more?

You may have been the same guy - sitting on a barstool in a Chiang Mai bar, crocked on beer, middle of the day. I never hang in bars, but I had to go in and get something that day.

They guy was pontificating about how "Every farang in Thailand is running away from something in their home country. If they weren't, they wouldn't be hiding out here in Thailand."

....or maybe that was your twin brother.

I feel sort of sad for her in a way. Thaksin in essence forced her into this position, and

then gave her skype instructions on how to loot the country. What at first seemed

like power and free shopping trips abroad has now turned horribly wrong for her..

Before you feel too sorry for her, she has been involved in "Insider Trading", not revealing all assets as required on entering Parliament, and Tax avoidance, so Miss Goody Goody is not as Innocent as she appears.

Mind numbing. One day in and they shoot themselves in the foot in respect of promoting reconciliation by being malicious and vindictive. Can it get ant more stupid?

Thaksin tried reconciliation according to him by trying to get an Amnesty Bill through Parliament which created the mess Thailand is in today....that was Stupid.

Yingluck tried various schemes to fill the family Coffers....that was Stupid. Yingluck tried to get some of her Family into top Jobs....that was stupid,.Yingluck was Too intent on taking Holidays and going shopping instead of attending Parliament and Rice Pledging Scheme meetings.....That was stupid.

Maybe a non-confrontational protest would be in order. If everyone mailed a pork chop or a shoe to the UAE Embassy until they deport Dr. Thaksin back to his homeland. The whole family could be re-united. Wouldn't that be nice?

Internationally, the detention of Yingluck will be a Public Relations disaster for the Generals.

Domestically, she is still popular in the provinces, and this will only lead to inflame her supporters.

she has been extraordinarily level headed throughout. Grace under fire.

Only because she doesn't have a clue on what is going on

The illegal detention if the former PM is a criminal act and should be condemned by the worlds leaders.

Thailand should now be isolated from the international community until an elected government is in place.

Please enlighten us all of your source on how you came up with such an authoritive statement and from what I have seen on a number of International News Broadcasts, most indicate that they don't have a clue of what is happening here and the reasons behind it. .

Yes there was. She represents an insidious disease that needs to be eradicated. Show the people that a Shin, one arm of the Shin, has been cut from the flesh, and it slowly chips away at Thaksin's insidiousness. One less rallying point for future reds to cling to. Think about it.

There seems to be a significant asymmetry here on ThaiVisa as to what criticisms are allowed to be launched against elements of the "red" leadership and what criticisms are allowed to be launched against elements of the "yellow" leadership. Perhaps good sense and decency should be evidenced to balance out certain prescribed restraints on speech. At the very least, hate filled ad hominem attacks such as seen above deserve the same consideration as what led to my brief banishment form these forums.

The 2nd women leader detailed and/or jailed by military in SE asia.

First as Aung San Suu Kyi by Burmese Junta.

Now Yingluck by Thai Junta.

Wrong!

That is like comparing apples with oranges...!!

Agree, Yingluck Shinawatra is 20 years younger and much better looking :-)

These Yingluck-is-hot posters must be hooked up with some real cows in their own lives.

Pork chop? that's too heavy and greasy - added postage. How about a slightly used tampon?

51 % is a majority, what is an absolute majority...?

an "absolute Majority" is when absolutely most, if not all, of the people who vote for you are paid to do so.

Seems army is going the whole hog

I wish them (and the country) success

Doesn't really matter anymore. It's just a third world country with a third world political base and a third world military. Irks me that the USA gives them any military aid. It's only used so the generals can assert control whenever they want. Reminds me of Egypt. The military let's the politicians pretend to be running the show but behind the scenes it's the military who steps in when they sense things are not going how the generals want it to go. This is really a country without anyone at the helm. The country just meanders from one storm to another.

Sorry, but I disagree with most of you

Put yourself in General Prayuth's position.

Two opposing factions, never going to see eye to eye, the Mayor of Dubai has made sure of that.

Ready for a showdown sometime over the weekend.

The boys in blue don't want to get involved.

No satisfactory answers from discussions over 2 days from any parties

Two caches of arms AK's, pipe bombs, & the ingredients to make more, 11,000 rounds ammo, & this "the tip of the iceberg"

What would you do, watch on TV whilst hundreds, maybe thousands of fellow Thais kill each other?

It had to be done & it was done bloodlessly, congratulations.

As to the attitude from the good old US of A what the hell would they really know, & is it really their business?

Now, run away for 6 months, (I'll run the country, I might even pay the rice farmers) change your constitution, do your "reform"

& when everybody settles down & starts talking sense I may let you have an election,
