Why was Asia left out of the Obama doctrine?

Obama is a lying corrupt socialist racist <deleted>. And I mean that in the nicest way possible. He is a typical liberal democrat.

The only thing that got him elected was skin color and rhetoric.

And,

He is now Putins' Bitch.

Well you have a few things correct. Obama, like all other politicians before him, says one thing during the campaign and then does not follow through on the campaign pledge once elected: e.g. closing Guantanamo, financial reform. .And of course for the vast majority who mistook him for something other than a typical Chicago politician, he has been a tremendous disappointment. He is as far removed from a socialist as was either of the Presidents Bush, or any Clinton. He is indeed a typical "liberal democrat", a species far removed form any traditional liberal conotations. Only the swing to the extreme far right amongst Republicans and their supporters allows one so embedded withing the financial sector and the larger corporate sector to be catetgorized as a liberal. I suggest reading Chris Hedges's Death of the Liberal Class to get further elaboration on this perspective. I do agree that Obama's rhetorical skills are top-notch and indeed played a part in his electoral victory, far more than his skin color. Although I would argue that it is his skin color that generates the absolute hatred of Obama from the far right (the Republicans base) that began even before he took office.

And I am sorry, but just how would you have responded to the thug Putin's annexation of Crimea? Do you really believe that the US had any political or military ability to directly respond and cause an immediate change in status?

It was also genuine footage of both events. Are you so partisan that you think it matters who runs it? rolleyes.gif

So you're honestly not embarrassed to watch Fox News?

Actually, the clips show West Point graduates greeting one commander in chief - Obama - with polite, lukewarm clapping and another one - Bush - with enthusiastic yelling, screaming and a standing ovation. clap2.gif

That's what I was referring to. One doesn't go through military training and come out a more rounded, thoughtful individual. The whole culture of the place is designed to turn out narrow minded automatons who see liberal thought as weak. Maybe they should look into who treats veterans better.

Perhaps they are, and that's why Shinseki handed in his resignation a couple of days ago.

I think he did what he could, but his hands were tied by opponents that have been as obstructive as they possibly can.

As for Crimea, there was nothing the west could do apart from sanctions. The way Putin operates, any country that seeks to leave the Russian sphere does it the hard way and leaves behind any disputed territory or good will.

Have you ever served in the military?

I'm not a West Point grad so I don't see liberal thought as weak. I see it as dangerous.

As far as treatment of the veterans is concerned, I would think right now is not a good time to try and trumpet Obama's accomplishments in this area.

I quit school.

I graduated usn submarine school at age 18.

Volunteer combat veteran, 2 times Tonkin gulf, 1 year in-country viet nam, the entire Tet invasion, 1968, around Saigon.

I am not john Wayne.

I am not a good killer.

Most of my time in-country was alone.

Whiskey and dragon ladies saved my sanity.

I despise liberals.

But I understand their issues.

Sorry to break this to you, but the military does not train soldiers how to think politically and there are plenty of liberal soldiers. The West Point soldiers reacted as they did because, in general, they do not see Obama as a strong or competent commander-in-chief.
